Dublin Bust-Up
Dublin football is in turmoil after a number of the panel walked out following a major training ground bust up. It is believed that the 6am session turned nasty yesterday morning and 8 of the players walked out. The incident is believed to have centred on the return of Kilmacud Crokes players. It is thought that some of the panel who have been involved throughout the League were informed that they could stand down at this point. This did not go down well with these players or a number of others who have trained intensively as a squad throughout the Winter, hence the walkout.

PAT GILROY insists that he will walk away from managing the Dublin footballers unless the players that walked off the panel return.
There is no imminent fear of that happening, as Dublin currently top the Allianz League table with a maximum ten points and can seal a first Division One final appearance in 12 years by beating Down at Croke Park this Saturday night.
But Gilroy, who has overseen a radical team overhaul during his two-and-a-half year tenure, declared: “My philosophy is if the players don't return, then I’ve no business staying involved in it.
“If we’re still talking about the team returning, then people should logically want us to stay involved … but if you’re not improving the team then you shouldn’t be around, and I’d be very pragmatic about it.”

I'm hearing that things are moving so fast and deteriorating so badly that there is every possibility that John and Edward Grimes may be staying on the turf as they may have to be named in the starting XV ...
