Barce at the minute are the best in europe . Now whoever wons the world cup at international level are world champions and whoever wons the euro championship and the european champions . Now just because the world club champions win it does not mean there the best in europe simple . So the same at club level.

The World Club Cup is highly regarded by pretty much every league except for the Premiership. The English have had the same attitude to pretty much every other major competition (World Cup. European Cup etc.) and will continue with every competition that they don't start themselves. Then all of a sudden they'll realise that the rest of the world is taking it seriously, and will laud it as a huge competition.

Why we buy into this petty English isolationism baffles me.

Black and White, I know the Olympics, U21 and U17 a international tournaments, and even the UEFA cup are rightly prized everywhere except England, which is why their international record is awful.

But not the World Club Cup. Many tears ago on a home and away basis between the Euro Champs and South American champs, but not now. Today it is a money making farce between an all powerful European team, teams from outer Mongolia and Seychelles, and a poor enough S.American team. Played in Japan, to make a profit for the entrants.

Not as prestigious as say the League Cup United won. I mean Middlesborough won that recently.

Come to think of it, another fairly disasterous season for United. Even Rangers managed the double in Scotland.
