I was listening to Micheal O Muireachtí on Suday and Im pretty sure I heard him say that if the Fermanagh/Down match finished level it would go to 10 minutes a side of extra time. Is this true for all games this Summer?? Good idea if it is.

Yeah, there would have been two 10 minute periods of extra-time, and if they were still level after that there would have been a further two periods of 5 minutes. If they were still level, only then would there be a replay.

Not sure if this applies to all games in the championship but certainly all the early ones anyway.

hmmm sounds interesting...there's nothing like a good replay saga though..remember Tipperary and Limerick a few years back took them 3 games to settle a tie. Loved it. Until Tipp lost... Sad

Thanks mmm, but let me try and get this straight,
So two 10 mins of extra time, then if still level another two 5 min preiods?!!?
Is it me or does that sound a bit feckin' daft?
Why not just two 15 min periods?

What if it was a draw after 15 minutes? What would they do then?

Replay it loyal, simple as.
What the point in changing sides over and over again when once will suffice. Be like watching a game of tennis with all the chopping and changing going on. Load of balls

But the point is to lessen the probability of the game going to a replay.

On another note, the four weeks of qualifiers all come week after week. This is a bigger disgrace and when the time comes, I imagine there will be a few complaints.

A game finishes level after 70 mins and goes to extra time. so far so good
10 mins then and still level. right another 5mins. Sill level?, no probem, lets play another 2 and a half mins either side, still level? lest play another minute either side. Still level, ah balls to this
Its simple, a match finishes level after 70mins, then 15 more mins either side.
If the game is still level then a replay. I think both teams would have both earned the right to a replay at that point.
