Sorry for your troubles hg! Dublin underage structures have NEVER been as strong - in both codes. Maybe the 'home' fixture thing motivated the lads. Our minors and U21s have been more than living with the Cats, Offaly and Wexford etc for a good few years now. The trick is taking it to senior which we (largely) have not managed ... yet.
Patronising comment, as one would expect in the circumstances...There's something about Dublin folk that intrigues me......
The last Government conducted a survey on the frog population......Believe me, they did, Minister Gormley in fact, (A Dublin man) was the instigator. ...
If the country was handed back to the rural folk we might have the problems solved more expotentially....

Not patronising at all - Carlow got seven bells of sh1te knocked out of them - to be expected. Gormley is/was not a Dub - check it out. If rural folk cut their grant take by 25% and paid tax all would be well ...
ps What is expotentially?

I haven't a fooking clue tbh...but I've heard it used by the former Senator here and there (allegedly in context).
It's a word much used by politicians and c***ts like Eddie Hobbs and his ilk.
It's a bit like "extrapolate" ...the meaning of which I've now mastered....
In fact, I'm committed to using said "extrapolate" next week...

This kind of guff discourages posters, lacking the exuberance of your verbosity, from posting on this site....

Good win for the Laois minors yesterday. Hopefully they remain competitive, from what I heard they more than put it up to Kilkenny in the last round. Although I believe this isn't a vintage Kilkenny side this year

I see Carlow took a terrible hammering by the Dubs, must be a bit of a set back. Hope our Carlow friend will fill us in. Will Carlow now enter minor b?

Re: Minor Hurling Championship 2012
The Dubs were sick after the defeat to Wexford and came out all guns blazing. Our lads were a bit shellshocked (for some reason) and the heads dropped. The backs were behind their men and forwards were last to the ball every time, a bad combination. Dublin hit the one corner every time and our management never copped on. Carlow were very lucky to keep 15 men on the pitch when Dion Wall widely pulled on corner forward Oísín O'Rourke as he beared down on goal.
Half Time: Dublin 2-11 Carlow 0-02
The second half wasn't any different. Dublin running from all angles playing perfectly projected balls into the full forward line. Changes were made but to little avail. Carlow's Pete Shaw was taken off through injury along with Michael O'Grady and Dublin's Shane McClelland and centre forward can't remember his name. Carlow failed to score from play.
I haven't seen a Carlow team play this bad in a long time and Andrew Beaton was a loss but no matter how they played Dublin still would have won. Disappointing end for the Carlow lads who had a great win over Kildare and a fantastic performance over Westmeath. Dublin are a serious team and if they were to play Wexford again in the morning I would have no doubt who would win.
We are a long way off the top standard at minor level and will be for years to come but a top 6 place is an improvement.
