Kerry Pull Out of 2012 McGrath Cup
Taken from the Twitter Feed.
I see that Kerry will not be trying to reclaim the McGrath Cup in 2012, the reason cited as they "would not be able to field a strong enough team".
I understand that their is more Uni teams in the McGrath Cup than the McKenna Cup, but do the Uni teams really take that many Kerry players to weaken them so much? Could they not use the cup to blood in more new players rather than just pull out of it if they can't win it?
Perhaps it's the price Kerry GAA have to pay for their players beng too dam start!!!

I think it is for financial reasons. The County Board under pressure for funds so some cut backs are required. I suppose as most of the players on the verge of the panel are attending 3rd level they will have plenty of matches in Jan and Feb.

Would that comp be much of a burden financially? If it is do you think you could see those counties that have big debts pulling out of pre-season comps!?

Jesus man I'd say ye have more money than anyone. If Kerry are pulling out of football competitions because of financial issues its a sad day to be honest.
