Champions League 2011/12
Arsenal blessed with the same luck they had at the weekend. Completely outplayed by Dortmund who should have been ahead but for some sloppy finishing. Then they went and gifted them the goal. They won't get another though as Hummels and Subotic are the best central defence partnership in the world.
I see Barcelona are having difficulty dealing with Nesta, Seedorf, Van Bommel and co. AC Milan are no mugs. Wouldn't surprise me if Nesta keeps Barca at bay by himself for the rest of the game.

I would take it that you didn't see Nesta's performance friday night

I've seen some jammy results in my time but the point Arsenal will get for tonight is up there.

Best central defender of all time. The Eurosport live text said the veteran defender had a blinder tonight. I don't doubt it.

Outstanding player alright and himself and Thiago Silva are an excellent partnership who play to each others strengths. He looks well off the pace last friday night though where Djibril Cisee had him in all sorts of trouble with his pace

Have to add that Hummels looks the most complete centre-half at his age since Nesta. Excellent reader, times his challenges to perfection, strong in the air and comfortable in possession, dribbled forward I don't know how many times launching Dortmund attacks this evening. Subotic is a very good assistant too.

Some finish from Giggs. United have their limits particularly in central midfield. And I still doubt Evra at left-back. A draw isn't a bad result away to the second seeds in the group but City at home to fourth seeds Napoli and only get a point? Bad result for them. And Javier Saviola and Pablo Aimar, two of my favourite Argentinians. Gifted players the two of them. Pity we didn't get to see Saviola though.

Re: Champions League 2011/12
Why would RTE not show Bayern Munich and Man City tonight? Game of the week.
Instead we have United and Basle, with United without Rooney, Hernandez and Vidic. And still no place for Berbatov.
I'll go for United 3-0, and 1-1 in the Allianz Arena.

City given a harsh lesson in European football tonight, but should stand to them. Still a few too many passengers in the side

What is he trying to achieve? Putting off any club that have the money to buy him? Disgusting behaviour.

probably trying to get 'sacked' so he becomes a free agent and there is no transfer fee involved when he moves on - i'd let him rot on the bench

But he's leaving himself open to City suing him for breach of contract? They have the money to let him rot in the reserves and may well do so to send out a message.
So Fergie was right eh.....

the longer he hangs about the worse it will become for City so they'll probably let him go on the cheap which is another reason why he might be acting the ****.
Fergie might not have been too far of the mark

Re: Champions League 2011/12
Fergie didn't get rid of Tevez because of his attitude, he didn't sign him as he felt he was over priced. Fergie even did his best to lower his value during the second half of his last season there by using him as an impact sub thus trying to downplay his importance and decrease his transfer value. Fergie wanted to keep him but was priced out of the market as United didn't own the rights to him.

Fergie didnt buy him because he didnt reckon he would stay long enough to justify the price tag - even in his Utd days Tevez was harping on about moving to be closer to his family - funny how he ended up only a few miles away!!!!!

And he was dead right, a player with such terrible attitude problems was way over priced at 30m.

Nice win for Borussia Dortmund last night. With Arsenal and Marseille drawing last night, four points from the remaining two fixtues against those two teams might be enough to see Dortmund through.
