NSG. You are correct but with the likes of Kenny and Gilmore sticking their noses into the argument rightly raises questions about them and their parties.

Turns out Cardinal Sean Brady was more than happy to turn a blind eye and help facilitate the molestation and buggery of vunerable young kids by other members of the clergy

My fear though is that even though i agree they are just words and nothing pro active will be done to remove him from his position of power in the church in Ireland.
The good samaritan in the bible didnt just text his superior and walk on did he?
So it's not OK to have Brady as head of Catholic church but it's grand that we have any amount of terrorists past and present running the assembly including one holding the position of deputy first minister, why would he resign when these other f@@kwits are allowed to continue in their positions of authority???????
I would NSG but you would probably bring religion into it.
Sometimes I do wonder if you read posts at all, can you not see the point I am trying to make????? It's not that difficult to work it out. To hear McGuinness and co calling for Brady to resign is a bit like listening to SAF saying Man City bought the league title this year or that Mancini was influencing the ref during recent Manchester derby. The words pot, kettle and black spring to mind.
One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter!
What about the millions of innocent people murdered by governments across the western world inc here in Ireland, does this mean they are terrorists too and should resign?
Bottom line, Brady was given trust as a man of god, he failed that trust, he failed to play by the rules he enforced on the Irish people, and most importantly he allowed childrens lives to be destroyed.
NSG do you actually read your posts before submitting them????? How many rules have our politicians broke, and how many more childrens lives were ruined by these mens (and womens) actions????
If you want to start a thread about lying/corrupt politicians go and do so then, plenty to talk about, maggie thatcher, george bush, gerry adams, their all there, go for it but dont come on here in a forum about religion talking about politicians when the thread is about religion, this thread is about religion ie bradys actions or in actions not what politicians do or dont do.

It certainly does, but talking about the hypocrisy of politicians should not deflect from the real issue that is that Brady allowed children to be sexually abused by being inactive and then trying to claim he was told to be inactive as he was only a notary, yet every sunday he preaches how it is every christians responsibility to spread the good word, then when it came his time to spread the good word he hid and allowed children to be abused in the name of god.
Yes everyone knows politicians are corrupt, everyone on this forum knows how i love to talk about corrupt politicians, including the SF president who himself covered up child abuse his brother was involved in, or the murders of Irish, afganis, iraqis and palestinians in the name of freedom by successive western governments, but dont use it to deflect from the real issue at hand that brady allowed children to be abused.
Bottom line in all this, what kenny, rabbitte, mc guinness have all said is nothing more than electioneering and trying to look good in the public eye and they will never do anything pro active to prevent the likes of brady from doing this again as the catholic church is too large an organisation to not have on your side.

Nah can't agree with that at all. Having the Catholic Church on your side (politically) is not relevant anymore. In fact it is more of a hindrance ....

I assure you the inactivity of politicians on this issue proives the organisations holds sway but back to the issue at hand it has been able to break laws north and south and face no retribution from government, id say thats pretty powerful. Fact of the matter is the majority of Ireland still considers itself catholic some of that majority see what is happening to the catholic church as a which hunt, probably some truth in that if you talk to members of protestant faiths in the north who have been abused by clerics and havent heard a word from government.
