Re: Dublin v Kilkenny
I'd like to see Dublin (or anyone for that matter) break KK's stranglehold on Leinster, but I'm afraid I don't expect to see it happen this year.
I fear that Dublin are about to learn the difference between league Cats and Championship Cats.

totally agree - the dubs did well to beat them in the league final but the cats will be looking to get revenge for that , with dublin missing a few men it may turn into a bit aof a runaway 7-10 pts maybe even more...

Re: Dublin v Kilkenny
Kilkenny have a lot of players just returning including the possibility of Tommy Walsh. Dublin missing Tomas Brady, Ryan O'Dwyer but may have Joey Boland back. Really up against it.

Re: Dublin v Kilkenny
Why not this Dublin team have arrived......there is more to this team than 2 or 3 individuals
Yes they will be missed
But Dublin have a squad with 0/30 players that play to the same ability,Without any 1 superstar.....Dublin play as a team
I might envy Kilkenny but the days of fearing the Cats are long gone..
This year we have earned our right to join the Hurling elite- and boy god why shouldn't we enjoy it....
Dublin by 3-5 only because Shefflin is back......Believe

Re: Dublin v Kilkenny
Dublin would want to shore up the defence for the next day, when Galway ran at the Dublin defence they got through on goal too easy and if Kilkenny are presented with those same opportunities as Galway were they will be more clinical. Wexford were able to show up the weaknesses of the Kilkenny full back line last time out, Dotsy should be put on Tyrell and I'd expect him to get a lot of change out of him. I don't know if Dublin however have a full forward of enough quality however to trouble an ageing Hickey, which would be a missed opportunity in my book. Dublin will definately need to score goals if they are to win. Its a different Kilkenny team to the League Final with most of their starters back so I'd expect them to win.

Dotsy view
"It's obviously a huge challenge, but, as a group, this is what you want: the big games, that's what you look forward to all year, and this is a big game.
"I don't want to be talking about the Kilkenny full-back line, to be honest - they have their job to do, we have ours. Everyone is tough at this level and those three have I don't know how many All-Ireland medals.
"They've been great but, look, I don't really give a damn to be honest, we don't really give a damn about anyone else at this stage, and that's no disrespect to anyone.
"This year we're just worried about ourselves, no point in going on about Kilkenny. They've won everything, hugely respected in hurling, but we're coming up now, we have a good squad together, and we're trying to challenge - you have to look to yourself."

Other than the NHL (which is all Galway have won in a long time! ) and the Walsh Cup, I agree with you Clash. Indeed Galway may be the only team to beat us in 2011!
Seriously though - the odds are stacked against us -but we are far far ahead of last year - that should be acknowledged.

Re: Dublin v Kilkenny
I understand a lot people writing Dublin off/i probably would myself only im a Dub..
This team owe us nothing from the Walsh cup right up the Leinster Final it's being like a whirlwind...I have never enjoyed the championship like i have this year..Every game people are waiting for our collapse but we still keep pulling something out of the fire....
Im going to enjoy tomorrow win/ lose/draw....
Dublin don't fear the Cats we respect them.

Dublin are getting better their results at underage over the last number of years has been promising but I reckon people are just getting a bit carried away. If Dublin were to get into an AI semi-final this year that would be huge progress.

Saying it for ages. Nobody would live with that type of intensity and skilll today - incl Tipp. Both these two are way ahead of the rest - with Dublin as good as any of the others. Nobody would have lived with the Cats today and Dublin did well in the circumstances. Still plenty left in Henry's tank and others.

Can't say I didn't see this coming. The Cats were licking their wounds after the league final. The frightening thing is they weren't in full flight today.

You're probably right Jayo. One thing which was evident today was their hunger. I haven't seem them this hungry for a Leinster title in years. Great to hear the Dubs fans cheering their team on in the dying minutes even though the match was over.

Re: Dublin v Kilkenny
As I say no shame there today - losing to possibly the greatest team of all time. We are still findng our feet at this level and days like today will hopefully expedite the learning curve. And our minors beat the Cats - so not a disaster of a day at all!

Re: Dublin v Kilkenny
Dublin seemed to lack that bit of quality and cutting edge in the forwards. Hard to know how good Kilkenny are as it hasn't really been put up to them in the first 2 matches. Will be interesting to see how they fare after their month off, Tipp still the team to beat at the moment though IMO.
