Ho ho ho - a ringer for Wexford Jim though!
Me in a tie I don't think so.
Only cap I'd wear is either the trusty woolly or a baseball.
Other than that no complaints

Well the oldest trade seems to be continuing despite the weather.
Recently moved to near enough Baggot St, and on the way up to Tesco their was a "lady of the night" peddling her wares on the corner. A hardy soul she was, I'd say she'd have been cold in that attire in the middle of June.
10 minutes later b&w passes the same spot on the way home, and there she is getting into a 5-series.......

I'd say there was more than just the pipes frozen.........
There's three of them out there now, interesting view from the sitting room window.
There's a Leitrim reg just after pulling up, and some auld lad with a beard sticking his head out the window. Seems to be doing some serious haggling over the price..........

Re: Snow laughing matters .....
And they ran out of de-icer in Brussels airport! is that worrying? Home of the EU and the whole place is shut down cos they have no de-icer?
Hey Pierre - get me another can of WD707 De-icer s'il vous plait.
Non, Bernard, there is none left I am afraid. I have checked everywhere - we have windscreen cleaner, remove seagull from engine fluid, and some toilet soap - but non - no de-icer!
Pierre - c'est incredible!!! It was on ze list! Teabags, milk, sugar, Gitanes and 400 gallons of de-icer!!!
Oh Bernard - ve haf the tea and milk and sugar and cigs but non - de-icer is not here!
Ok close the place Pierre - at least we can have ze cuppa and a smoke!!
.............. Imagine if that happened here - we'd be laughed at all over Europe - so let's laugh at the normally beaurocratic Belgians! Nice chocolate lads but no de-icer1
ps They can say what they like about us but we can still afford salt too!

Re: Snow laughing matters .....
Things I have learned in last 12 months that I never knew before
1. German Automatic back wheel drive cars are useless in this climate
2. The temp gauge on the car can go to minus double digit
3 Leaving a Karcher Power washers in a shed at -10 is not a good idea
4. Salt and a Synthetic Mastic Asphalt driveways are not happy bedfellows
5. New Zealand "maori Red Flax" garden grass plants do not like -10
6. Escallonia Shrubbery does not like -10
7. You do not get a refund from the golf club despite in being umnplayable for over 30 days in calendar year
8. XMAS is a bad time to have erratic refuse collection
9. It is possible to empty ash bucket into neighbours garden if you kick some snow over it
10. Snow can be too cold to make a snowman
11. Nigerian Taxi drivers are surprisngly brave at all terrain driving at 4.00 am if you throw them a €20
12. IF the parking lights are covered by snow it is easy to leave them on all night without noticing
13 Breakdown assist/Homestart is a motor insurance benefit that has merit (see above)
14. The wifes Pomeranian can survive being outside all night at -15

Jayo is badly rattled by the weather....Tis as I always feared....an urban softie.....Rural life wouldn't suit you lad. Dexterity with water pumps, blow torches, qualplex piping, pipe joints, fodder management, electrical connections for infra-red bulbs etc. these are all extra curricular activities you will need to brush up on before retiring to a rural abode in the future....

Re: Snow laughing matters .....
This weather plays tricks with domesticated animals IMO. 2 dogs here, both male, an old English sheepdog for agri-use and a labrador for the youngsters. They have always used seperate sheds at night, but lately they both emerge from the one shed in the morning...mullins wrote:Have a cat sleeps all day, bang 10 pm gone out the door hail rain or snow.. :confused..
