Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
When does the festival start? I'd say it will be Monday before a lot of the folks on here will be able to express their interest or not.

The guesser has as much chance as the lad who has been following racing all year.
But I suppose one tip would be to back names like Ruby Walsh, Barry Geraghty, Paul Carberry, Paul Nicholls, Nicky Henderson and Willie Mullins. They will have lots of winners. Other than that, you know as much as me.

I think I'll go for Neptune in the GOld Cup no value with Kauto or Denman.

I see where you are coming from Clash but I don't think Neptune Collonges will win. He is simply too unsuited by the track. Whether either Denman or Kauto Star are bad value is debatable. Kauto Star has been the best chaser in the last 3 years and the best that has come to challenge Kauto has been Denman and now he looks not as good so what can stop Kauto? 2/1 is quite big. Then again, Denman annihalated the field last year so 5/1 for him is massive too. After all, he has run one bad race - how bad it was is debatable too - and there has been a bit of an over reaction.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
First Cheltenham tip:
Meath AllStar in the Champion Bumper (last race on the Wednesday).
Was very eyecatching at Leopardstown yesterday in his gallop. Ridden very quietly. His stablemate Sicilian Secret will be hard to beat but I think Meath AllStar can come in the first three. I have watched his only race a million times, my eyes are sore, and he is a very good horse. 16/1 is a great price.
Also I like his name but even ignoring that, he looks good.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Coventry to beat Chelsea
Ireland to win the Grand slam
Coventry to get promoted to make the play offs
can it be done as an accumulator?

You can literally accumulate any bet. Paddy Power is giving 6/1 on Coventry over 90 minutes - or 4/1 to take the tie. Ireland are 15/8 to win the Grand Slam - a crap price IMO considering they have two away games left including Wales the current Grand Slam holders. No value whatsoever! I think you can get about 25/1 on Coventry to get promoted!
If you take Coventry at 4/1 to win the tie then a tenner will give you €3,737!!!
Good Luck......

6/1 to beat Chelsea over 90 - 4/1 to win the tie.
25/1 to get promoted.
Bet above is a treble which comprises Ireland to win Grand Slam (15/, Coventry at 4/1 to win Chelsea tie and then separately to get promoted (25/1).

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Admin, that bet is a related contingency. Coventry to beat Chelsea and Coventry to get promoted cannot be done in a double. If they beat Chelsea, their odds for promotion will be affected. I would enquire with someone worthwhile about getting a price for that but if you take their individual odds and treble tham, you will not get paid what you expect.
If you don't get what I'm saying I can explain more later but it would be like say doing a double on Chelsea to win and Chelsea to win 2-0. The bet is related.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Fifth but I liked what I saw.
Just couldn't sprint at the crucial time.
On a separate note:
How far will Meath AllStar win the Champion Bumper by?
Is anyone bothered about a Cheltenham Tipping Competition? JayoCluxton and RMDrive said they will play but don't think there is much point unless another few express some sort of interest.

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Keep an eye on this thread over the coming days. Loyal2TheRoyal's nap for the Cheltenham Festival will be posted here in time, he's 16/1 and I can't see him out of the first one. He'll think he's running free with this weight, I can't have him beat. I REPEAT, WON'T BE BEAT.

Loyal my good friend - you also have my email address and I will gladly give you my bleeper, mobile and work number if you can deliver a 16/1 for me!!!
Did you see that guy who is going in the Bumper on Wed (5.15) - Shinrock Paddy. Jockey is the owner in his late 40s and only started riding 10 years ago! Any chance?? (Paul Nolan stable I think).

Re: Tips/Predictions/Bets
Barry Connell is infamous amongst many punters and things could turn nasty if something goes wrong in the Bumper. The horse looks very good but the fact remains that it will be ridden by a very bad amateur. I'd love to see Barry Connell win it but he is a massive negative for the horse's chances.
I don't know if anyone has seen Barry Connell ride before but if you haven't, try pick him out in the last two furlongs. Shouldn't be a difficult process.
