A Bad day for Meath Fianna Failers - The exit of the once "Golden Boy".
A strange career - He blazed a trail of glory en route to the front bench - Master electoral strategist and central cog in the FF "electoral machine"- A bit of time at middleweight (environment, Education) and managed to solider through without doing himself any harm - Progression just seemed to run out of fuel ain the mid noughties - Never managed to break into the top five - Never had any major hiccups other than leaving a saltless Ireland for a salted Malta.
If things had of stayed good the Road-opening ribbon-cutting might have been popular instead of being a reminder of the stuff we started in the good times.
Anyway with his teacher and minister salary he will be able to afford the entry fee to Pairc Tailteann for him and his jack Russell. Im sure he will be missed by the hoardes of FF meathmen on this forum
Good bye to The "Aston Villa" of Irish Politics.

What i told you was fact/why would i put up a case naming the people that were involved in it..If you wan't to work in law you should know how to find these rulings yourself......I don't see what i could gain from lying..

In France the people wouldn't take this they'd be out rioting. They'll keep their own feckin' wages high and tax the poor people. No danger of them getting rid of their state cars and drivers. The EU now run Ireland, I'm outraged, lost of sovereignty, I feckin love a bit of sovereignty, so did the boys in 1916, etc etc.. There, I think between us we've covered all the general, useless comments on the economy.
So where else could Ireland get the money? I'd research it myself but sure how would I know when I come across the truth? This might be hard to believe but there are a lot of people out there who would bluff about that kind of thing without having a clue what they're on about......

Would you do me a huge favour and write me up a little tutorial on how to look up these 'case' thingies you keep on about? It's a totally alien concept to me. And keep it simple I'm not familiar with all this legal jargon..

yes china and they only be to glad to help and would charge less than the ECB and the IMF but then we only ever do what our masters in the uk and europe tell us to do, sickening really but then its quite obvious that this country still has village politics

Have you spoken to the Chinese government to see what rate they would give? Why would it be better than the Bond Markets and the EU/IMF? This is classic stuff.. "China would be only too glad to help"...

Could you enlighten us as to what brought this Hun here in the first place. It wouldn't have been any form of incentivisation would it, the low corporation tax or the likes????
So he's off once the breeze turned against him.....

Re: Impending General Election....GT's choice.....
Not sure if the Chinese would have any interest in lending to Ireland with a favourable rate. The Chinese make up a large part the bond markets who drove up the rates that were far higher even than the EU/IMF loan - It probably be wouldn't be any different if a bilateral loan was considered.
The situation in lending to America is different to ours - If the Chinese didn't lend to them, their biggest trading partner would be screwed and subsequently the Chinese would be screwed too.
The Chinese only give economic aid to countries with resources they can exploit - often in the guise of building infrastructure and not transfer of money. Unless we give them the Corrib gas field they wouldn't have any substantial interest in funding Ireland.

Incorrect.
But c'mon mullins share your knowledge with us please. I might go to town tomorrow night and start a row and I'd like to see how I can get away with smacking my arresting officer. I simply don't have the know how to find it, I would never have had reason to look one up before, wouldn't know where to look anyways, do they keep the records of these "case" thingamajigs in the library or what? Or are they online? Sure I suppose everything is online these days with the interweb and silicon chips and such..

jon i don't really understand law, well maybe only getting away with it-but as far as i know their doesn't be that many judgements in any year,so it would take a genius to find 1
DPP v. Byrne [1974] I.R.
DPP v. Wallace was -
The State (McLoughlin) v. Judge Shannon [1948] 1 IR 439 and The People (Attorney General) v. Blogh [1958] IR 91.-
these were the points used to win this case ,maybe that helps you, back to now

There are a huge amount of case reports every year. The cases referred to in the ruling are of no interest to me. It doesn't exist mullins, give it up man! Your "getting away with things" obviously isn't achieved through an ability to spin a convincing story on the witness stand anyway!

Re: Impending General Election....GT's choice.....
Economics is a very simple thing made very complicated by people .... to justify their existence. For years the world (as we knew it) traded on barter etc. There was even a time when one good 'club' could earn you a wife.
Now we have bond markets and bond holders - who (apparently) must be honooured more than a Hindu bride. But it amazes me that an entity as big as the EU is so beholden to this stuff - less so Eire.
Some would say fook em all - we can do it ourselves - and hoooray for that. Except we don't make cars, TVs, toasters, or radios or even industrial machinery .. so we enter the real world ... economy.
Sure we can box more clever ... and we may do. I look at Norway and think .... hmmm
