Was thinking that myself Boc, Mrs E was stunned when she found out there was a game on in Croker and i didn't want to go to it. Not a fan of the Int. Rules at all to be honest!
Roll on the NFL as my interest in the Club Championship has now ended too!!!

BE - I am doing a bit of painting this weekend. You can come around to my gaff and watch it dry. It'll be more exciting than that ***** ... and cheaper!

That good eh JC? I've done a bit of reading into the game online this morning and it seems that i was better placed spaced out of my head in the Red Cross Hotel after all. Similar fate to the Provincials me thinks....at least they were Gaelic Games though!!!

Re: International Rules
I just got a prawn sandwich invite to this. Do I 'compromise' my contempt for this hybrid game by attending and drinking gallons of free beer and eating free food ...... hell, yes!
As long as the TV in the room is tuned into Winning Streak or X Factor sure I'll be grand!

Hey ho Baldy...I've an even better alternative for you. The Celebrity Bainisteoir final is in Parnell Park on Friday evening, throw in at 7.30pm. Admission, wait for it, is FREE....in Dublin.. The protagonists are Ballymun Kickhams and Castleisland Desmonds and a rumour on the grapevine implies that 3inarow (Triona) may be on the verge of a comeback for the Kerrymen..
Anyway the fare, given that a Dublin team are in it***, will be modest at best, but guaranteed to exceed the muck that will be beamed across the nation from CP on Sat. night in the hybrid event.
***Should you see a lanky, bedraggled musician with a squeezebox outside Parnell Park on near O'Connell Bridge, slip him a few quid for Dutch Golds...Jayo has fallen on even harder times of late and we must stick together.....

Boxty you failed to warn BE of the risk of raised blood pressure while looking at the lead singer of Crystal Swing up and down the sideline managing Castleisland.. Bring nothing that could be used as a missile, the temptation could overcome the calmest of men.

Re: International Rules
Last Saturday night was a bit ... Meh
It was truly tedious fare, especially with one of the sides showing their dearh of experience / competence with a spherical football - the lads in white I recall.
The whole atmosphere seemed dull as pergatory from the TV. I was at the test match in Salthill a few years back which was light years ahead in terms of entertainment compared to that funeralistic torture.
I'll possibly go to the hurling/ shinty at the weekend as tickets are not bad value.

The Compromise rules is more goosed than the Dept of finance. Bringing it back this time was a mistake but probably useful as well and truly providing the final nail in the coffin for the utter cockfest it has become.

Not matter how hard times become, no matter how much pressure is on finances, no matter how hard it is to put bread on the table, to clothe oneself, to maintain dignity in the face of overwhelming adversity - there will always be one constant ... there will always be funds for Dutch Gold .....

I'm practising the Hucklebuck as we speak, so as to perfect it for the homecoming in Nightowls, or more commonly, "Da Hotel".

Re: International Rules
The biggest thing that stood out from last week's game was how limited our "Player of the Year" really is. Apart from one run near the end he was anonymous. Very limited player as i had always suspected and now it's been confirmed

Yes it was the biggest disappointment to me too. What we need are winners - we need Mayo players. A big occasion in Croke Park, a must win game, a Final if you like. Who you gonna call? Mayo of course! WB can you use some of your influence to get these boys aboard before its too late??

a large number of mayo lads were called up jayo but due to club committments and other things, were unable to attend. Ye will have to manage without us for this one. Hopefully BB has practised his kicking during the week and maybe he might even have grown a pair. Doubt it though

Thats always going to be the problem with a successful footballing county WB. Add in the rigours of farming and the Mayo lads just ain't gonna get the chance to represent their country ... shame really ...

We need to score probably at least 3 goals to turn it around. Coulter should help things. If we get him in close to goal along with stevie mcdonnell and tommy walsh then we might have a chance. BB could maybe be given a roll of 'maor uisce' or something similar
