Taking a hammering but still going for glory
After Armagh's hammering on Sunday at the hands of Monaghan, and after reading Boylan's warning to the royals.
How many teams have be hammered in early championship games yet still made decent progress during the summer months?

Wexford in 2008. Got tanked by Dublin in the Leinster Final and yet got to the All Ireland semi finals beating Armagh and then running Tyrone close.
Donegal in 2003. Maybe not a tanked but beaten by Fermanagh in Ulster and got to All Ireland semi final before being beaten by Armagh

Roscommon and Donegal would be well known for getting hammered during the C'ship season .... playing pool etc ....
ps You're clutching at straws man ....

The crucial game after Roscommon knocked Galway on our arses in Connacht in 01 was the Armagh game which was the quater Final if memory serves(or the last leg of the qualifiers, might have been Cork we met in the last 8, memorys a bit hazy). Galway had built up a nice bit of momentum in the qualifiers but it was only after Paul Clancy broke yer hearts with the winning point that day did lads really start believing again. Kernan took over your lot then and ye didn't do too badly the year afterwards

In 2006 Westmeath were destroyed by Offaly in Leinster but reached the AI quarters, eventually succumbing to a hefty pasting from the Dubs. (Although we were very lucky in the draw not meeting any of the big guns, beating London, Limerick, Sligo and Galway.)

You got lucky against Sligo too.
Only for O'Hara being sent off in error ye wouldn't have gotten out of Markievicz!

Was at the Galway game that year too, great performance from yerselves to turn them over.
Best effect of the Qualifiers is throwing up ties like these. Fixtures like Sligo v Westmeath, Westmeath v Galway, Sligo v Kildare were never likely to happen under the old system, great to have brought some diversity to fixtures.

Could the Dubs take a hammering on Sunday (or is it really on Sunday?) and still give Sam a rattle???

Could the Dubs be beating Sunday -Possible if Wexford get off to a flyer.....But the flip side to that question if the Dubs get off to a flyer we will hammer the wexicans.
Give Sam a rattle if beating

Re: Taking a hammering but still going for glory
Getting beaten on Sunday would be the makings of this Dublin team and their followers...
Long trips to rural venues like Hyde Park and Castlebar would toughen up the squad, open their minds to different types of football and footballers than are currently on show in Leinster and bring a sense of adventure to the summer.
They are visibly tired from competing in what is the weakest province and it has been evident now for a few years.
Trips to these far flung and oft forgotten outposts would be wonderful for supporters. They could mingle with rustic cousins, imbibe pints of top shot porter for as little as €3.75, ate' real "hang-sangiges" and enjoy all the benefits of country life for a day or two.
Think about it....
