Should be a good game of hurling. The only thing is its between to hurling counties who are on the way down. The toughness and roughness of Clare versus the power and determination of Waterford. I can see Waterford winning this one by no more than 6 points.

I'm thinking of heading to Thurles on Mon for my firest "tier 1" hurling game. But maybe it's not the best choice. What could top today with the Sligo and Louth showing what sport is all about?

Clare on fire, superb goal from Honan although Hennassy might have done better. What is with Ger Cannings voice?

Waterford 0-22 Clare 1-15
Waterford didn't cut loose until the death but they'll be happy enough having played poorly. Ken McGrath scored the point of the day coming on with 5 minutes to play, but otherwise a lot of their big name players were quiet today, Browne and Prendergast the exceptions in the 2nd half. Clare did well enough, if some of their more experienced lads had stuck with them for this year they wouldn't be too far off the pace.
