Wouldn't take that site seriously. How have Kilkenny even got points?
By the looks of it you must get points for fielding a team

Re: Latest GAAinfo football rankings
When was it compiled?
On recent results Galway survived in division one, Tyrone didn't, Antrim got out of Division 3, wexford didn't and so on.
A bit strange to say the least.

Re: Latest GAAinfo football rankings
Check out GAAinfo for how the rankings are calculated. It's the best system out there. Not perfect but it's based on a defined and objective scoring method and not on some fool's over-inflated opinion about how good his county is.
The problem with most peoples rankings is that they cannot explain how they have calculated it. For one county they will base it on league form. For another it will be based on the fact that they were good 4 years ago. For yet another it will be because they hate that particular county.
These are the best rankings out there and in fairness is there any county that would move more than 2 places in either direction?

Re: Latest GAAinfo football rankings
If Mayo are the third best team in Ireland then i am Diego Maradona, RMDrive, to answer your question i think you could swap them directly with Tyrone. To me Cork are not no1 untill they prove it by winning the all-ireland (i think they will this year but untill they do for me they are no2 or 3). For the life of me i cant see how anyone can say Mayo are the third best. I think Kerry are no1 untill proven otherwise, Cork no2, Tyrone no 3. Then i think you could take Mayo, Galway, Dublin, Meath, Kildare, Armagh, Monaghan, Derry, Down, Donegal. You could place them in that order or you could list them in reverse order, scramble them up. It wouldnt matter, i think there could be an arguement for whichever order you put them in. As i have said so often, these teams are all the second tier teams and all on a par with eachother

But is it not fair to say that Mayo are the 5th best team at the moment? I think it is. That's the point I was making. You could move any team up or down two places but overall it's a good system.

personally my own rankings would be based on championship football, where teams got to the previous two or three years. Who beat them, by how much and under what circumstances so to be honest i wouldnt rank them 5th although i cannot say with any certainty they are not the 5th best(just personal opinion). But say the top 8 that is in the rankings made the quarter finals i would say they would be the team most of the other 7 would love to meet.

That, my dear, is what's known as a 'spoonerism'. What you meant to say is 'blind mowing' - a very appropriate description of Ulster football ....
