Mayo V Dublin
Well Mayo and Dublin lock horns in Castlebar on Sunday. Ronaldson was banned but has been included in the line-up, which means Mayo are going to appeal his ban again and O' Mahony is confident enough things will go their way. Kevin McLoughlin is a growing talent in the Mayo team, and I think himself, Howley and Gardiner will keep good tabs on Dublin's forwards. Vaughan and Higgins have been strutting their stuff very well these days too, so I don't have big worries about Mayo's defence.
Alan Dillon and Conor Mortimer make their return to the squad, so if Ronaldson's ban is upheld, one of these lads will go in. I would imagine Dillon. Dublin, I think, are our biggest threat so far. They got a good result versus Kerry, won against Derry(a mediocre performance though). Fennell is playing well for them and Henry is always a threat in the forwards.
Interestingly, Dublin haven't beaten Mayo in Castlebar in the League since 1992. I feel it can go either way on the day-hopefully the Mayo way! The stand is top notch so Jayo, hipster, or mullins, if you're heading down, the stand is the way to go! I was there for the Galway match and although it was a freezing cold day, the stand shielded alot of the cold wind and so it wasn't as cold as say, Pearse Stadium. There's a big drop between each row of seats, so nobody will be in your way!
O' Mahony went with McLoughlin and O'Shea despite them having an U-21 match on Wednesday. Hope they're not going to pick up any injuries for that game.
MAIGH EO ABÚ!

Just confirmed that Ronaldson won't be playing. There was a mix-up with the line-up given on Tuesday, but Seán Feeney has cleared up the confusion. I'd imagine Dillopn will take his place, Mortimer is in with a chance too. Although their level of fitness is debatable, having only returned from holidays about 3 weeks ago.

Just back great away win against the mighty men of the west..Was very impressed with Dublin from 1-9 this is where this game was won.You can see that gilroy is putting a lot of time an effort in to this department. All 9 of them played their part today
The forwards had a bad day at the office today- But that doesn't bother me because only 2 of them will start in the championship. You could see the difference when Keaney and Brogan came on Dublin went up a gear.
If anyone thinks were just going to be making up the numbers this year think again- its going to take a good team to stop us this year.
Missing piece of the jigsaw for me would be to have Whelan back for 1 last bash..
Go On The Dubs

Feck sake Mayo, cost me alot of money today! All I needed was them to them to win and I'd have won a tidy sum in my accum!
Good win for Dublin, especially considering their record in Mayo over recent times. They look a tighter, steelier outfit that won't give much away, definately much improved in the defensive stakes.
Will be a tough day out in Parnell next Saturday but we'll give it a go!

Wins in Kerry and Mayo - and a home one against Derry! That should be 8 points in Tipster if you had faith in your team .......... or none otherwise ...

That's a good win for the Dubs. Mayo are tough to beat in McHale. The signs are good in the capital. Better check the last time the bus was serviced.

Re: Mayo V Dublin
Awful day out for Mayo. They missed so many clear-cut chances. O' Shea isn't playing up to his potential, but his brother Séamus is playing very well. An awful pity Ronaldson didn't get to play because of the ban, he would have added something extra to the team. Brogan's goal seemed to rejuvenate the Dubs after Mayo's one.
Ara, sure it was a nice day out anyway. Lá breá gréine a bhí ann! The match could have gone either way, though. Mayo picked it up a bit in the second half.

could not make the game today had a match at 12.30 a stupid time but as for dublin a good win and to be honest i think us dubs will take any win at the moment good or bad to try and build a bit of confidence , as for mayo what i was told and read they missed a lot of chances but at least they made the chances i would reakon they will get to the AI semi finals at least this year , it only march the real action is only a couple months away

The current set-up is heavily biased in favour of the Connacht counties and not one of them has managed a semi-final appearance since 2006.
Mayo are short a good six or seven players based on last year's quarter-final with Meath. They might beat any of the second tier counties if everything fell right but they are well short of Cork, Kerry and Tyrone. They've no midfield either, which until last year I would have considered one of their main cards. McGarritty has regressed big time and Parsons has failed to fulfil the potential of a few years ago.
Dublin are a team going nowhere as well, the three League wins are already making headlines as their shortcomings are been conviently forgotten. Another August Bank Holiday no show beckons.

We still have to break that QF hoodoo alright. But anything is possible. I look at an extremely limited Meath teams achievements in recent years and it gives me hope.

Re: Mayo V Dublin
Leinster is anybody's guess this year.
If Meath even half-perfected their long ball tactic, we'd put any defence in Leinster behind the eighth ball in an instant. But we're struggling to even do that as we haven't the players out the field to play this game. We crave for a re-incarnation of Trevor Giles. Joe to midfield still hasn't happened?

I couldn't say that with any degree of certainty. I look at their team and I don't see any world-beaters listed. At least the team of the late 90s had Brian Lacey, Glenn Ryan, Niall Buckley, Willie McCreery, Eddie McCormack and Martin Lynch. Very good players! I don't believe they have that calibre of player today.
You look at the teams they beat last year, Laois, Offaly, Wexford and Wicklow and I wonder what all the fuss is about. The looking good in defeats to Dublin and Tyrone is quite deceptive. Dublin and Tyrone were always going to win them games.
