Re: Its Just Not Cricket!
Lads, I think you have to look at the make up of the England team in context. Some of those players listed were born abroad to at least one English parent therefore have a direct affiliation to England. Others have been in England since school age and others declared to play for England during the apartheid era. To just list names and birthplaces doesn't tell even half the story.
With regards to the Irish lads, if you look at test cricket as the ultimate stage for a cricketer to play on then what choice do they have at the moment? That's one for the ruling body to sort out though.
It'd be nice if every international team was made up of people born solely in that country but in that scenario many a good footballer wouldn't have played for Ireland and if you broaden the theory U2 would be half English. I think ultimately it's more a case of where the individual see's himself as being from than where the outsider looking in percieves him to be from.
Speaking personally, I was born in England, I sound English but given the talent and the choice I'd pull on an Irish jersey for just about any sport you care to name, although I'd probably have to play cricket for England too!

Ireland would be nowhere in cricket without foreign players, like Trent.

Re: Its Just Not Cricket!
After his amazing 130 in his Test debut and hype that he would be an Ashes cert things have gone downhill rapidly for Morgan, 17 in the second innings just 6 in his 2nd Test innings, then 17 and 5 when losing the 3rd Test followed by a duck today. I expect the Beeb are now calling him Dubliner or Irishman Eoin Morgan ...

Disgraceful if it turns out to be true. The entire tour has already lost all credibility and players involved should be banned for life if it is true.
I am, however, slightly confused as to why bowling a couple of no balls can help bookies to make so much money? Surely people don't bet on when a no ball will happen?
