Superbowl Tonight
Well loyal any insights do you except the saint to go marching or P.Manning to get his second ring.
On a side note Peyton Mannings father was the quaterback for the Saints in the 70's and 80's

Colts have been the best team so far and I'd say they should beat the saints tonight.

Saints for me.
I haven't followed it a fraction as much this year, racing either. Hands quite full the last few months. And unfortunetely, I've no telly so I mightn't get to see it tonight but I'll surely watch the highlights.
Reggie Bush MVP.

Saints look good value for me. Freeney's injury is massive for the Colts. Should be a great game, with two offences that can put up big scores.
And yes Jayo, Carrie Underwood was shocking!

True Jayo, but you have to hand it to them, they put on a show like no one else does.
So much the GAA can learn from them, particularly the build up, and thew access that the media have to the players. Aside from Sean Cavanagh, it's hard to get 2 words out of a GAA player nowadays.

What a start to the 2nd half! Onside kick recovered by the Saints. After going for 4th and goal at the end of the 1st half.
I always admire any side, in any sport, who take chances to win. Saints definitely with the momentum now.

Re: Superbowl Tonight
Great night's entertainment.
and great to see a coach try things. The attempt for the touch down on the 4th down, and then the big play to get the ball back and take the field goal.
The "sneeky" kick off, I have never seen this before, I thought he had made a horlicks of the kick.
The momentum seemed to be with them, it was 10-3 when I arrived home, so it was deserved.
And Manning is good but Joe Montana was the boy for me.

Re: Superbowl Tonight
Good match. Didn't think the Saints would win and when the colts went 10-0 up I thought they would just run away with it. The long field goals kept them in it and maybe that missed field goal by the colts was the turning point of the game. The saints made the brave calls and it paid off, unusual enough to see a team do an onside kick so early in the game but it worked it good for them in the end.

Re: Superbowl Tonight
Great game, with a great comeback by the Saints, but not the high-scoring shootout that many expected. As is often the case, turnovers decide games. This game was a little odd in that there was only one turnover, but it was still the play that decided the game.
It was a strange game in terms of there being very few big plays, the onside kick to open the second half, and Porter's INT being the two exceptions.
The Colts earned 100 yards more than the Saints, but just as with the Vikings two weeks ago, they didn't turn the yardage advantage into points. The Saints continued a pattern of playing safe against a strong passing QB, giving up small gains but avoiding giving up a big play, and once again it proved effective.

Re: Superbowl Tonight
The Saints won because their Head Coach's aggressive play-calling put them in a position to win, and Brees & the young kicker took advantage of every opportunity. Vilma was also excellent controlling their defence.
I know Brees won the MVP, but Coach Sean Payton really was the one who was the biggest difference in the 2 sides. Good game which the better all-round side won.

The coverage it gets in the US would have to be seen to be believed. Pre-game coverage started yesterday at noon, the game started at 6.30. Every aspect of the game was analysed to death, there were interviews with players' coaches from high school, profiles of the umpires, anything you could possibly think of.
Other channels were all running football themed programming for the afternoon, one channel had the Puppy Bowl (exactly as it sounds, puppies playing American football!), whilst the Lingerie Bowl (full contact 7 v 7 football, played by lingerie models in helmet, shoulder pads, bra and panties) was on pay-per-view as an alternative half-time show.
Then after the game, 10 minutes of interviews, no analysis, and the coverage ends!

In all fairness i havent watched that much of it so i am probably guilty of talking sh!t - its all the breaks and the fact that it is so commercialised and there is an Ad break every other minute - i'm not patient enough to watch it I suppose TC.
Is it that skilful a sport is there much in terms of tactics bar cleaning your direct opponent out???
Patrique coming from Antrim I'd believe that comment you made................
