Mayo can only have one representative on this team.
The swan, Ciaran McDonald gets my vote.

Mullins - I think the guy would have to have performed consistently over a period to be considered. Loyal I think Mac is a fine player too but TG is better IMO. Does this mean that you would not find a place for TG?

Re: 11. Centre half forward
Giles, Val Daly, Ja Fallon, Brian McGuigan and Martin McHugh would all be worth a shout here (not sure I'd play Connor at 11 Rua - probably closer to goal), but the 3 I'd have as strongest contenders would be Eugene McKenna, Greg Blaney and Larry Tompkins.
Would probably just about go for Tompkins, who dragged a half-decent Cork side to 4 finals in a row, with his heavy scoring, strength, fitness and leadership. Some outstanding players in this category.

Yeah dessie was a good man at 11, wasn't it mcgeeney who said he wouldn't have liked to mark dessie when he had 2 legs.

Not alone was this man the greatest 11 of all time, but indeed the greatest man ever to lace a boot...

Re: 11. Centre half forward
The experts say Purcell, who sadly I never saw.
For me you had the bustling runner such as James "Tub" McCartan, and the elegant runner in Declan O'Sullivan. McDonald was wonderful to watch, Giles was the first "quarter back, and Kerry appeared in 10 all Ireland finals, and in every one they started Ogie at centre half they won, so he must have had something.
There is a current Belfast lad who has vision, high fielding and scoring ability of the highest level, and Hanahoe could lead a line.
But it must be Purcell.

It's McDonald for me folks, just a wonderful player who just shows that you don't have to have a load of All Ireland medals to be a great player!

Re: 11. Centre half forward
deffo gonna have to go with Ciaran McDonald on this one lads.He oozed pure class and while he might not have any All-Ireland (intercounty) medals he was still a class player
Re: 11. Centre half forward
As I never actually saw Purcell, I must readjust, having read the rules.
Eugene McKenna always impressed me but I missed a lot of his career as I was living in England.
Blaney had vision, and Tompkins was exceptional, as he could do it all.The only Galway man to win 4 all Ireland's, Mattie McDonagh also features in the shake up.
Martin Mchugh could do wonders here as well.
Verdict? Tompkins.
