world challenge fundraising
If all goes well, I will be going on a World Challenge expedition to Malawi and Zambia in July 2011. The cost is £3500 and I need to raise this entirely within the next 20 months. does anyone have any good ideas for individual fundraising? thanks

Re: world challenge fundraising
Bocerty will fix you up with an Irish PPS number and you can claim the dole in Ballyconnell. In a town of 750 people there are 1,300 signing on the dole. Boc knows the "chief" there and can do the biz for a small fee.
Work out the sums on it, should be a smooth one...check with Boc there.

Sami I would love to sponsor you. If you could stick me in your bag or bring me along as a masseuse better still.

it's a 28 day expedition to Malawi and Zambia. It will include 8 - 10 days of trekking and 8 - 10 days of manual/charitable work in the local communities.

I think, but I'm not 100% sure, that mycharity.ie accommodates people trying to raise money for charity. Richy had one set up for himself in aid of Croí. People donate money and it all goes towards your target!
I'd pay a few bob into the kitty!

Re: world challenge fundraising
Having been "inspired" by the GAA Tipster last man standing competition I have set up a Yorkshire equivalent - however I have players from all over so if anyone on here would like to take their chances at winning a bit of Sterling in prize money please don't hesitate to join in.
Just follow this link and read the details.

Re: world challenge fundraising
A small but novel and profitable suggestion Sami.
You picture an house made of 48 or so blocks with one door and four windows.
Transfer this onto a sponsorship card and sell the blocks for £5, the windows for £10 and the door for £20.
The full house is therefor worth £300. It's a good ould seller and I'm sure you are technically able to create this sponsorship card yourself. If not get back to me on it and I'll chase it up for you.
Otherwise look up "Habitat for humanity" as a Junior Boxty spent a month in a jungle somewhere a few years ago building houses with them.
