GAA Season tickets...Thoughts.
On sale at €75 for the 2010 season now. Personally I think they are good value provided you can attend plenty of league games.
They also entitle you to a stand ticket for the opening champo contest. Good value or not....discuss.

They're a great idea, but until Sligo County Board stop fixing club league games for 2 hours before a league game they're not going to be great sellers in Yeat's Country.

i think they are a great job though i havent actually bought one - the only problem i know off is some of the grounds dont have the necessary scanners to keep a record of your attendance and that can cause a problem. I think if your county get to the All Ireland final your name is entered into a draw for tickets.
Boxty if your stuck for something to buy me for Christmas one of these will do the job, i'll PM you the address, good man.

I got a B/Day pressie of "The History of Gaelic Football" by Eoghan Corry which I'm reading at the moment.
I'll keep it nice and clean and re-cycle it for your pressie Boc. Times are difficult but I'm thinking of you....

Re: GAA Season tickets...Thoughts.
an excellent deal alright and if you attend over 60% of matches you qualify for tickets at a reduced rate after the first round of the championship . no such thing as being entered in a draw as onyl 500 tickets for each county you are guaranteed a ticket for the final.
my only problem is as a club player during the league we often train on sunday morning which as we all would know in preseason wont be a wee handy ball session it will be a slog. as a cub me and the auld fella attended all league matches bar the real far flung ones . following tyrone divison two /one we were all over ireland i have been to kerry roscommon galway clare (feb 96 what a weekend!) mayo.
i havent bought a season ticket yet but when the boots are finally hung up if the scheme is still going i will be buying.

What I want to know is do they charge you for a league match regardless of whether you attend or not?

the initial price includes all league matches and a first round championship match clash - they dont give a damn if you go or not but you must attend something like 60% of matches to qualify for further tickets and to be in a draw for a final ticket if your team make sit.

I think it is a great idea and a bargain. Say Dublin in first round of championship well there can be no more excuse for not getting a ticket.
