Leave Kenny Egan Alone!!
It seems our media are racing to the bottom as quickly as their British counterparts in their hounding of 'celebrities'.
Kenny Egan goes out to Beijing, does this country proud, wins a gold medal but is given a silver - and then comes home to a heroes welcome - followed by intense scrutiny of every bloody thing the guy does from the media.
Why can't they leave him alone? He is not public property. Don't remember this happening to Michael Carruth or Sonya or anyone before and shouldn't be happening now. Makes me sick!!

Ah he did alright Clash - he just didn't get the medal!!
Some people might say he gets grant aid from the Irish Sports Council. Does this mean our GAA stars will be subject to the same scrutiny if/when they get grants??!?!

Wonder does he have to use that grant aid to pay for flights and a trainer and that.

Clash - as am amateur I think the IABA look after all that. But I met him in November last and he is just a decent guy who brought a lot of pleasure to this country last summer and now he is hounded at every turn. Why would anyone bother!

He deserves it all IMO. I mean FFS the guy is a pain the arse
Look at the job he did on the GAA anniversary show for example. He's not a patch your man who did it before him - the angel gabriel.
