John Egan R.I.P.
I'm sad to report the death of Kerry legend John Egan at his home in Cork at the age of 59.
He is survived by his wife and two children, to whom I extend the forum's sympathy.
One of the driving forces behind the great Kerry team, he was one of the finest and most clinical corner forwards the game has seen.

Was away down in Waterford and got a text early in the morning about John's death. I dont know what you think boys but always was seen in Kerry as the greatest forward we ever had but underrated. Knew John reasonably well through South Kerry football mainly. A gentleman,a class act and also the respect in Cork through his achievements with Bishopstown(Actually played hurling also there)was exceptional. Conor Counihan said today a genius with a ball.RIP John we will miss you sadly.

Jaysus I tell ya RKF we Dubs never underrated him. He was your typical small corner forward - except he was built like a mini bull - with finesse.

A brilliant footballer, and very highly rated in Tyrone. He was a favourite of the late, great Iggy Jones, who admired his power, pace, balance and wonderful skill.
A sad loss, and condolences to his family.
Rest in peace.
