Re: TG4 best hurler 84 to 09
As Jim says, either Carey or Shefflin will probably win this but there are staggering omissions given some of those who are in the line-up.
Springing to mind and in memory of service are Storey, O'Connor, Dempsey and Liam Dunne of Wexford.
Hanamy, Delaney and Johnny Pilkington of Offaly. Leahy and Fox of Tipp along with Brendan Lynskey of Galway.
Omissions from the Cat's include John Power, Kavanagh and Ger Henderson and Limerick's ultimate timber merchant, Mike Houlihane is also overlooked although a seat on the Co.Council is adequate compensation.
There are far too many Cork hoors on the list ( JBM is worth his nomination though)
The overlooking of Leitrim's all time highest scorer, Clement Cunniffe is an oversight I'd say.*
*Expecting this to be amended shortly.

I noticed alright about the number of players that were left out but you have to ask yourself if they were included would they win.

Liam Griffin reckons DJ is the best he has seen. I agree with him.
I love Henry, Joe Cooney, Tommy Walsh is unbelievable, and many, many others, but to me DJ was the man.

People believed for a while though that he underperformed in finals, took the 2002 final to rid that belief.
