Re: Best Hurler in the Country
It has to be Eoin Kelly from tipp. Closely followed by Henry. In 2 or 3 years it will be Joe Canning

Re: Best Hurler in the Country
What defines the best hurler? Like there are two or three lads in Meath who are extremely dedicated and that dedication is only equalled by their ability to hurl. But will anyone outside of Meath ever even contemplate them being the best hurler? No.
Anyway taking the best to mean a mixture of talent, skill, strength, dedication and leadership then maybe John Mullane deserves a mention. Walsh, Sheflin and two Eoin Kellys not far away either. Certainly couldn't Canning is the best. He's onlt played three Championship games and is only 20. I'll wait for at least another year or two before mentioning him up there with the best.

If you ever notice the forwards get all the limelight just because they get the scores the poor defenders rarely get any credit.

Who is the best defender Clash? Tommy Walsh obviously up there but the two Gerrys for Clare, O'Grady and Quinn worth a mention too.

Re: Best Hurler in the Country
I would put Noel Hickey, Ken McGrath and JJ Delaney up there as well. Kilkenny struggled there around 04-05 without Hickey.

Re: Best Hurler in the Country
Noel Hickey is definitely the unsung hero in Kilkenny. Not sure if JJ has ever been as good since the year he won POTY. He was unbelievable then. Ken McGrath is legendary too. He could play enywhere from 2-9 for Waterford and you would be gauranteed a a supreme performance.

Easy seen i've quit Hurling folks or i'd be topping that list!!!
Eoin Kelly (Tipp) for me. Although i think Henry Sheff is something unreal to watch and i hope he hits top form again this year, playing well i think he's the best i've ever seen overall in my lifetime,
