your probably right Mossy - though one of the Tipp lads should get it, it is rare for the MoTM to be selected from the losing team. Corbett Kelly O Mahony or even young Maher at fullback were the pick of the players on display today.
Im always right Bo, you of all people should know that

Re: Hurling Final - Score and MotM prediction
I backed Kilkenny half time/full time and Tommy Walsh as MOTM and was lucky on all three.
Corbett had a great game.
However at half time I said all Kilkenny need is a good manager. Bring on Hickey, put JJ on Corbett, and get Comerford on for his strength. Finally whoever manages Kilkenny brings on Comerford and Loughnane calls it "a touch of genius".
If I had been on the Kilkenny line.............

Re: Hurling Final - Score and MotM prediction
I confess about 30 people gave me strange looks when after 30 minutes I loudly declared "All Kilkenny need is a good manager"
But as usual I was right.
Personally despite Tommy tour de force Ryan should have been MOTM.

Who got it? I prob would have stumped for T Walsh but Tipp were prob the better team today and lost and as someone said you could give it to 3/4 Tipp lads. Lar Corbett must read these msgs cos he shoved it down Ps throat today!!

Re: Hurling Final - Score and MotM prediction
Aye PJ Ryan got it, deservedly so in my opinion as, even with the penalty, Tipp would probably be celebrating tonight if it wasn't for him.
All three lads in the studio are sure Tommy Walsh will get Hurler of the Year.

Yeah you couldn't fault Ryan as MotM - definitely made match winning saves and I reckon it looks like a Cat keeper will also get an All Star this year!

he has some record since he appeared on the scene an all-star in every year he has been playing and no doubt another one this year.
On a side note he deserves a lot of credit for his actions today were he got straight back on his feet after what can only be described as a truly awful strike from Dunne - he is a credit to himself his family and his county. How many others would have done it - more than likely they would still be rolling around croker just to make sure Dunne got his marching orders. Well done Tommy.

Congratulations to the Galway minor hurling team on a great win against Kilkenny. Mattie Murphy said this was the best minor team he ever had and they certainly lived up to the hype and pressure by beating a strong Kilkenny team.

Re: Hurling Final - Score and MotM prediction
About 2007 I decided that although Brian Whelehan had been recently deified as the best ever, Walsh was probably better already.
Half forward, mid field, half back, what a talent. His skill level is unbelievable, as he dips a ball moving AWAY from him effortlessly every time. His catching is great, point scoring, soloing, allround hurling.
Remember Cody has reigned him in and told him to play his position instead of dominating.
I also admit at times he "loses it" and lashes out and should have seen red on a few occasions over the years.
But what a hurler. JJ is maybe the best left half I have seen, but Walsh is something else.

Re: Hurling Final - Score and MotM prediction
Aidan Fogarty is better than Tommy Walsh and JJ Delaney put together.
Taggy, Larkin, Sheflin and maybe John Dalton or Michael Kavanagh as a corner-back would get on the Clare team of the 90s, other than that, no Kilkenny players would get on that team.
But Taggy is the unsung hero of this team, majestic when at best.

Less of the hyperbole please, Tommy has often stayed down when it suits him, Shefflin too for that matter, recall the ref politely asking him to get the fook up a couple of times there yesterday. Not meant as a criticism as this is the way the game has gone, these are facts and they are indisputable. The big cameras were on them yesterday and they knew it, que best behaviour.

were the cameras used on Sunday bigger than those used in the semi final!!!!!! KK were under no more pressure on Sunday than they have been in any other game this year in terms of media coverage, so your point is bollox Mossy. Walsh in particular is always a man under the micrsoscope whether its a NHL game or a Championship game.
In the biggest game of the year when his team were behind and in need of something to kick start a recovery Walsh could easily have lay down and writhed about in agony just to make sure Dunne got red carded, instead he chose to do the honorable thing of getting back to his feet and made no big deal of an awful challenge. IMO that is to be applauded and encouraged so i am at a loss to see why you have a problem with that.
And furthermore Mossy i dont think KK do anything to suit anyone but themselves so que best behaviour for the cameras is nonsense, if they had to have mixed it up a bit to win the match they'd have done it cameras or no cameras.

one of the Tipp lads should get MOTM, they gave an outstanding team performance and really put it up to Kilkenny. Maher at the back or Kelly, perhaps Corbett.
