Who would you have a pint with ........
If you were to have a few pints with 3 people who would they be? Any 3 people in the world. Some lads here it will be Sharon Stone, Claudia Schiffer and Angelina Jolie!
I would take one from politics, one from sport and the obligatory female for gender balance of course.
So I would be buying a brandy and port for Nelson Mandela, a pint of Guinness for Mohammed Ali and a large Pernod and blackcurrant for Uma Thurman - oh - and 3 pints of Heino for meself!

That just gives me an endless list though :/
For dead people...
Hitler - great mind, he was making such great progress with Germany. I think today Germany would have been a super power if it wasnt thanks to the war.

I take it the was for Hitler?
He was a great mind look what he did for Germany, He gave the people what they wanted and Germany was in the dumps he brought the country back from off its knees. He was a great man untill it was too late to stop him.

Talks with his hand up to his mouth sort of, complete with big wooly geansai under the jacket on a sweltering day.
An engaging card, full of oul' yarns that lead to others. Possibly a shy man, at least not gregarious or pretentious - just himself.

Re: Who would you have a pint with ........
I used to work in Townsend St and go into Ned Scanlon's for lunch the odd day . Con used to file for the Press in the wee hours and then head to Ned's early house for his few pints - his night out if you like. He'd always have a few brandy and milks to finish.
There is a great story that once they lost his script and sent a young runner over to Mulligan's to see if Con could rescue the situation. He sat the young lad down and studiously recalled the column for that day in deep concentration.
Later on the original turned up and it was almost verbatim what Con had recalled!!!
