Tbh Samin if you can live in Dublin nowhere is expensive. I have been to Rome a couple of times and didn't find it particularly dear at all. Found Chicago (in April) to be fairly dear. You just have to shop around in Rome and be wary of hidden charges sometimes. Its a great place though but some of the buildings are falling down - such as the Forum.
Redhandman - that looks the biz alright!
