Are people jealous of Meath's success?
So at the start of the year, we all knew Tyrone, Cork and Kerry were the three teams to beat. Still they remain but it appears the only team that is worthy to take them on now is Meath. We have jumped across the gap. So are the Dublins, the Armaghs, the Monaghans, the Mayos, the Derrys, the Galways, the Kildares, the Limericks, the Donegals jealous? They would all have been considered good enough for anyone on their day but now they are no longer. Meath have gone where they could not. We have been deemed worthy to be listed alongside Kerry, Tyrone and Cork. The top 3 is now the top 4. So does bitterness exist towards the Royal County from other counties listed previous? Are you all happy with the fact that Meath are better than your own county, that we own you? Are you?

Jealous of what exactly? Meath havent won anything whereas the likes of Dublin and Mayo have. It will just be a case of close but no cigar.
I suppose it is a success for Meath reaching the semi's and fair play to them.

Re: Are people jealous of Meath's success?
I am insanely jealous. I have no doubt whatsoever who will win Sam now. It is written in the stars. For years the messiah has been among us (ok - he can be a very naughty boy), predicting the future and we have laughed at him and his ramblings. We have taunted him and ridiculed him. Yes he may have said things that were pure horse s***e and most of his predictions were off the planet entirely and wildly inaccurate but he could obviously see the bigger picture.
God we have not learned. 2009 years ago we crucified the man who brought the news and now we are at it again. Truly this man is the chosen one - the special one. We shall erect a shrine - a cross made with two short planks - thick as he likes - and we shall put it in a field somewhere so that nature can benefit to the full extent - and the fauna and flora - each time he opens his mouth to lecture us.

Re: Are people jealous of Meath's success?
they have been well rested since 2007 so i suppose we shouldnt be surprised at their 'success'. Don't fortget Loyal, Wexford were in exactly the same position this time last year - it was soon established they were out of their depth and have since taken major steps backwards, so i wouldnt crow too loudly just yet.
Just because you are in an All Ireland semi final doesnt mean you are better than the teams listed, of course had you beaten any of them along the way then perhaps you could justify the bragging rights you are exercising at present.

Meath, Kerry, Cork and Tyrone are the only teams to have reached the last four twice in the last three years.
Like they say, the cream always comes to the top. What a final three games we are left with as all the top teams go head to head. There is nothing between any of them.

I can't remember, that day is a blank for some peculiar reason. Hard to believe that 2007 was the last time Dublin reached a semi. Where did it all go wrong?

The All-Ireland Final will be a cracker this year, no question. Kerry and Tyrone will both be all out to decide once and for all the ultimate question, Who has been the team of the decade?
As the only other two winners this decade Galway and Armagh shall stand together on the podium as the best of the rest.
Well done to all the also-rans, 10 out of 10 for effort.
(or 2 out of 10 as the case may be)

I would say there will be about 6 points between two of them in the second semi final. But fair play to Meath, two semi finals in three years is not bad going, the might of Waterford, Limerick, Mayo and who else this year Loyal?

Yeah beaten by just 2 points to the eventual All Ireland champs again. That means Cork must have beaten ye before Kerry beat them by 10 points in the final. Can you recall?
Just shows ye - ye can get the luck of the draw and a rub of the green but in the end you can't avoid the class out there and sometimes can get a stuffing.
Gone a bit wrong for us alright. Mind you eight years without a Leinster and four consecutive championship defeats must annoy a Meath man a tad.

Re: Are people jealous of Meath's success?
indeed its funny that if Leinster is as sh**e as everyone makes it out ot be Meath still cant win a Leinster title. Or does the cream only rise to the top in the qualifiers??????

Thought we'd take the Tyrone approach and win an All-Ireland without winning our province first.

the discussion wasnt about Tyrone Meath head-to-heads it was about winning all irelands through the back door - not like you to move the goal posts to suit yourself Loyal

Purely hypothetically speaking does anyone think its possible for one person to ensure that say 30 other people will cheer for anyone but their county when they play their next match?

going by the number of threads that have been 'bumped' in the last few days i think that 1 person is even trying to convince themselves to cheer for the mightly Meath against Kerry - i'm no psychiatrist but our token Meath supporter does appear to be insecure when it comes to his own county
