Who will be Victorious?
Galway vs Waterford
Another tough match for Galway. I'd say it will be a close game. Hopefully Galway can repeat the performance of the second half against Cork again.

Re: Galway vs Waterford
Clare, Cork and now Waterford, if we're going to do it this year we'll definitely have deserved it!
I was confident against Clare, I thought we'd beat Cork simply off the back of wanting to right last years result, call it a case of greater motivation but Waterford is going to be very hard. I'll back us but we'll need to be nothing short of at our best.

Re: Galway vs Waterford
Shane Kavanagh will be a big loss with a broken bone in his hand. Just when full and centre back positions were starting to look solid......still think we should take the Waterboys though!

Re: Galway vs Waterford
Kavanaghs a big loss alright. He had that spot nailed although he was prone to being caught out the odd time. McLearn and McGentee are much of a muchness really, both were given a shot in the league and neither really excelled themselves, I think Mclearn got sent off in his debut. Should still have the beating of Waterford but any more injuries would see us screwed against KK.

Re: Galway vs Waterford
Canning needs to lay off the burgers and chips, the only place for him is in on the edge of the square and hope that he gets on the end of something. The long and the short it is that Canning is obese, if he was to jump into the air for a ball, he'd get too stuck.

I don't know how that "too" got in there. I'll try again, if Canning jumped into the air he'd get stuck.

I tried to drive around Joe Canning once. I had a full tank starting off, halfways through my journey I ran out of petrol.

Like most Meath teams these days, out of gas by half time?

Re: Galway vs Waterford
Joe Canning has lost over 2 stone since last year and spent most of the winter in the gym. I can't think of any other hurler in the country that is as accurate as Canning from a free 70m+ away from goal. It was his shot that led to the Galway goal and he was unlucky in the first half that his shot hit Donal Og Cusack.
Another hurler who is twice as good as last year is Chunky Hayes. He has lost a power of weight and has also brushed up alot on his skills and is one of the most improved hurlers on the Galway team.

Will they change his nickname now Clash? I think they should - if the guy makes the effort then if seems unfair to carry around the chunky moniker. Can I suggest Slim Hayes?

I seem to recall ye not getting started at all against Cork later in the year

Re: Galway vs Waterford
Kevin Hayes has been excepional. He comes on and infuses the whole team with a higher intensity. Was probably the winning of the game against Cork. Would ye start him against Waterford Clash/Flanders?

Re: Galway vs Waterford
Hard to know as Donnellan has been playing well also. Hayes definitely adds some bite when he comes on and as such may be better as an impact sub.....certainly a tough call for the next game....

Re: Galway vs Waterford
I'd stick with Donnelan as he was excellent against Clare and Kilkenny, if its not working out I wouldn't hesitate to bring on chunky. Gantly will more than likely start instead of Healy and McIntee will probably be the full back.
In response to Jayo chunkless is his new nickname.
