Something has happened Jayo, perhaps it's the full moon or Dublin still going in both codes but he definitely seems to be acting out of character. His recent outburst on uneducated rural folk was a step too far for Boxty who has stood by his principles and walked when a retraction was not issued.

Boxty is survived by his son Puke and life partner Mossbags. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

An International Film Festival is to be held in Ballinamore County Leitrim for the first time.

The free two day film event will take place on the 27th & 28th of August and will see a diverse range of films, directors, actors and artists showcasing their work.

Organisers are also inviting young filmmakers from 14-18 years of age to submit there work for the youth category.

And apparently a few of the cognoscenti were eyeing JC with a view to (at very least) a slot as a damned tall sultry handsome extra ... ye may laugh ....

Someone around here has got to be the moral guardian. The loss of respect for the true moral authority in this State (the Church) has resulted in a calamitous downturn in behaviour among citizens. The moral fibre in this country has never been more tattered - man's inhumanity to man has never been so evident and woman's inhumanity to woman and man so prevalent all around us. People have become spineless and full of self interest and Mé Féinism. There is no respect for God, man nor dog.

I will not let this happen in my presence. Where I witness ignorance I will enlighten. Where I witness rudeness I will chastise. Where I witness wrong I will right. I will not be the sheep among men - I will be the shepherd.

Where there is darkeness I will throw light, where there is evil I will introduce virtue.

I wil not stand idly by and watch mother earth disintegrate into a cesspit of greed, obnoxiousness and incivility. I will drag this planet from the gutter and ensure that people will once more have honour, respect and dignity.
