Boxtyeater Tribute Thread
On the 'GT, Websites ... bah!' thread, Boxty confirms that he is leaving the forum.
A legend, a genius, an icon, a symbol for all that is good in the world. Use all the superlatives you want. His legacy in this part of cyberspace will remain forever.
Boxtyeater, you will be missed. We will truly never see your likes again.

A tragedy to see Boxty hounded off the site by a power-hungry 'Moderator'.

I am no moderator. This seems an almost weekly occurrence now and reminds me of the antics of a lad from Walkinstown elsewhere.

Too good to be branded a Mod? Fine then Mr Administrator your grace..
Something has happened Jayo, perhaps it's the full moon or Dublin still going in both codes but he definitely seems to be acting out of character. His recent outburst on uneducated rural folk was a step too far for Boxty who has stood by his principles and walked when a retraction was not issued.
Boxty is survived by his son Puke and life partner Mossbags. Our thoughts are with them at this time.

Re: Boxtyeater Tribute Thread
At Fenagh, with meek and unaffected grace,
His looks adorned the venerable place;
Truth from his lips prevailed with double sway,
And fools, who came to scoff, remained to pray.
The service passed, around the pious man,
With steady zeal, each honest rustic ran;
Even children followed with endearing wile,
And plucked his gown, to share the good man's smile.
His ready smile a parent's warmth expressed,
Their welfare pleased him, and their cares distressed;
To them his heart, his love, his griefs were given,
But all his serious thoughts had rest in Heaven.
As some tall cliff, that lifts its awful form,
Swells from the vale, and midway leaves the storm,
Though round its breast the rolling clouds are spread,
Eternal sunshine settles on its head.

I was around the set of Ros na Ruin!! or whatever its called a few years back (5?)!!! Non equity card stuff for me.
And apparently a few of the cognoscenti were eyeing JC with a view to (at very least) a slot as a damned tall sultry handsome extra ... ye may laugh ....
(extra means no focal most times too!)

Will you ever give over that attitude of "looking down" on country folk.
Also please desist from using words such as cognoscenti. It's taken me 6 minutes to obtain a translation. A good judge of a beast would have sufficed.

Someone around here has got to be the moral guardian. The loss of respect for the true moral authority in this State (the Church) has resulted in a calamitous downturn in behaviour among citizens. The moral fibre in this country has never been more tattered - man's inhumanity to man has never been so evident and woman's inhumanity to woman and man so prevalent all around us. People have become spineless and full of self interest and Mé Féinism. There is no respect for God, man nor dog.
I will not let this happen in my presence. Where I witness ignorance I will enlighten. Where I witness rudeness I will chastise. Where I witness wrong I will right. I will not be the sheep among men - I will be the shepherd.
Where there is darkeness I will throw light, where there is evil I will introduce virtue.
I wil not stand idly by and watch mother earth disintegrate into a cesspit of greed, obnoxiousness and incivility. I will drag this planet from the gutter and ensure that people will once more have honour, respect and dignity.
Coming for you first Puke ....
