Big Dan retires
Hurler of the year 2007 and general all round legend of the game has decided to call it a day. One of my favourite hurlers. It's sad that this Waterford side never won the All-Ireland they probably deserved, much lesser teams than them have done down the years. Maintaining consistency from one game to the next was their achilles heal I suppose and Big Dan perhaps exemplified this better then any of them but when he was good,he was very, very good.

This thread is not about any Joe C. It is a tribute to Dan Shanahan.
