Moaner of the year 2010
This is an award to be given out after all the dust has settled in late September.
Two of the favourites are already well clear of the field but its early days yet
Micky Harte
It's absolutely not acceptable that players have to come out here to
look for water in conditions like that," he fumed.
"And you saw
for yourself, when they throw in the bottles, half the time they break
open and spill out. And secondly, that's dangerous. If it's not lifted
again, and the player steps on it or jumps on it or lands on it, it's
very dangerous.
"I don't understand the point of it.
Sean óg O hAilpín
"A lot of people have me written off. They say I'm too old. My pace is
gone. All of this stuff is being bandied around," he said on joe.ie
"But
if anyone knows my history, I've been written off since I was a kid,
when I got 'What the hell is this half-Fijian doing playing hurling?'
I've been used to it for the last 20 years.
"Something like this
is normal when you're Séan Óg O hAilpín."

I nominate Davy Fitz
I have not heard him complain yet but I'm sure some where that he is being subject to a media agenda of doubting thomas's and begrudjery

This isn't really a nominations thread Omar, more of a Log thread for all the moaning and whinging our esteemed GAA overlords will be getting up to throughout the coming Summer.
Your 100% spot on with Davy-boy though, he's been eerily quiet so far this year but he'd defo be one of the favourites too, early days. Mick O Dwyer is another who many expect to be in the running for this prestigious award

Who gives a fook? Biggest load of schite since strawberry stout. This whole soccerball subsection is a disgrace especially after we had to jump through hoops just so we could even mention the word Cheltenham earlier in the year. Ye can stuff yer Word Cup up the eye of Henry's b****x for all I care

Please be advised that the criteria for The prestigious Moaner of the year award is based purely on GAA people and GAA related topics. I thought that was fairly obvious as it was in the General GAA subsection but evidently not, perhaps you've been too busy investing your time in the newly formed subsections to notice.
As such I will be advising the judging committee to disregard both of your comments.

Re: Moaner of the year 2010
I agree mossbags
for example on the wirst weekend 12th of June we will have to endure the drivel that will be Argentina V Nigeria.
Argentina with Cambiosso, Zanetti ,Tevez, Morlito, Samuel and of course Messi - the team that at their best lit up the last world cup versus the Super Eagles, twice African champions with Kanu, Mikel and co a game that will provide a huge contrast in playing styles and cultures.
Who in their right mind would give a monkeys f##t about such nonsense when the can jump in the car and head on over to Breffni park for the gauranteed "beautiful game" that will be the eagearly awaited head to head of the Ulster titans and even more important championship debut of GT's own team Cavan when they take on the might of neighbours Fermanagh.

Re: Moaner of the year 2010
John Mullane lays down a marker here that has already made many sit up and take notice of his strong claims to this prestigious award.
Waterford hurling star John Mullane has described the GAA's ticket
prices as "shameful".
In an astonishing outburst, the De La Salle
clubman also labelled the timing of the All-Ireland under 21 hurling
championship a "disaster" for senior squad and the scheduling of
Waterford's Munster SHC opener against Clare for 3pm on the June Bank
Holiday Monday (June 7) as "ridiculous".
"It's absolutely ridiculous," he fumed at the launch of a new range of Puma products in
Dublin yesterday.
"I was only talking to (Kerry footballer)
Declan O'Sullivan there and they had the same scenario last year against
Dublin. It's a crazy situation. The GAA are thinking of TV revenue but
they are not thinking of the players.
"It's bad enough waiting around until Sunday but to wait around an extra day, you have to think of work then. You might have to take the Tuesday off because you are
recovering from the game. It's a disaster really, but it is just
something we have to get on with."
The former All-Star argued that the poor attendances at some championship matches are down to overpriced tickets.
"The ticket prices are absolutely crazy.
"You had the scenario last week with Waterford and Clare and asked people to
pay €20 to go in and watch the football.
"It's Waterford and Clare now again next week (in the hurling) and you have €30 tickets. How
are they enticing people to go out and support teams? For families it
is quite difficult.
"The GAA is an amateur sport. Why don't they have amateur prices? The GAA is all about being family-orientated. Let's try and help families in a recession, instead of charging these prices."
The ace forward also claimed his side's preparations have been seriously hampered by the under 21 championship which begins just a few days earlier.
"The under 21s are out against Cork next Wednesday and preparation-wise, for us it is a total nightmare. We have eight or nine off the under 21 panel and we will have them one
night and not the next. To try and play training matches, that is just a
total disaster. They need to start looking at everything," he added.
