The Swerve Kick Thread
If Joe Canning played football he'd be scoring points like this all day long. Joyce, McDonald, Dooher and of course, Maurice Fitz all the true greats of the game had and have this one mastered to a T.

Re: The Swerve Kick Thread
Every other kick that Stevie McDonnell had against Derry swerved. The free before half time was beautiful and if you watch him set up the goal for Jamie Clarke it took a nice swerve.

Only 3 worthy examples in that clip...McEntee, Fitz and a McDonald pass. On the last clip (McDonald point ) the shade from the sun made it unclear, but did he take 7 or 8 steps before shooting.
Come to Castlebar on C/F day Bags if you want to see "swerve kicks". Our lads would appear to have invented it.......

Re: The Swerve Kick Thread
I noticed Paddy Cunningham at this before kick off last Sunday. Hit about half a dozen over the bar, from straight in front, from around the fifty mark.
I assume the swerve is to compensate for lack of angle, when straight in front?
