Áth Cliath v Dún na nGall - Cluiche Ceannais Faoi 21 - Páirc Bhréifne - 01/05/2010 7pm
This should be a good game I reckon. Good wins for both teams last night. I only saw a bit of the Dublin game (I've it taped to watch) but they looked very impressive.
Great to see Donegal in a final. The lads completely deserve it. They work very hard and are completely committed. Murphy is obviously the star man but there's some fine players in the other 14. Mark McHugh (of the good pedigree) has been playing well thoughout Ulster and in particular tonight. Boyle in goals is solid, especially considering he is only 17/18. It seems like in every game our midfield is expected to struggle yet Leo McLoone has held his own in all cases. Molloy, Mulhern ... Fair play to them all.
Will the Dubs travel in numbers? Shouldn't be an issue anyway as all the locals will no doubt be cheering on the Dubs over the anti-footballers from Tír Chonaill.
Come on Donegal!!!

Dublin played better after the Furman sending off. Rock did really well in the middle. It will be a really interesting battle between Murphy and Rory O'Carroll. Whoever gets the upper hand here could decide the winner.

Those nice people in Bus Eireann seem to regard Cavan town as the halfway point between south Donegal and Dublin and hence they take a comfort break in Cavan town.
Those nice people in Bus Eireann seem to regard Monaghan town as the halfway point between North Donegal and Dublin and hence they take a comfort break in Monaghan.
So I would have thought the either Breffni or Clones were the obvious choices.
Now given that Breffni and those nice Murtagh people have spent quote a few Shekels on the ground they do like to get a bit of trade and Clones tends to get its fair share
come championship time. The wee six would also be an option but then we have to consider the fact that a percentage of the gate goes to Liz because Vat is chargeable on sport. Can't really see the point in dragging the dubs into the BMW region and beyond as you are then turning a 1.5 hour commute into a 2 hour plus commute - possibly carrick on shannon and further is not practical for the dubs.
But all in all Cavan seems a fair enough choice to me although it is a little bit unfair on anyone living North of Letterkenny

It should indeed - if I get the car back in time I would love to go! Might built up the points tomorrow night ....
Jaysus if we had the t-shirts it'd be mighty. Dougal, Breffni, Scoopmine and the lads have the GAATipster banner made and will be slinging John 3:17 out of his seat. It will cover the terrace and be 50 metres long but Larry Reilly will hold each end - no bother to him.

I intend to venture down to breffni also. clearly the 25 euro x 2 stand entry remains somewhat of a hurdle however I have requests and feelers out amongst the great and the good of cavan to see if there are unwanted freebies lying in any inpost drawer.
I saw the Kilmore proprieter on the news this evening and am reminded that they are junior or intermdeidate club championhsip sponsors so I'm starting my hunt there given that I was a patron of said establishment for my communion lunch.

Very tight game not really one for the purests. On balance Dublin deserved it
they had a bit more cut in the half forward line when moving at pace. Donegal had a fairly clear game plan crowd the half back line with the half forwards playing deep and try and pump it to Murphy. Never really worked with Carroll keeping very tight and getting out in front and breaking the ball to the half back line with not a Donegal half forward in sight. Carrol had a good game as had 7 and 12. Donegal no 7 crossan had a good game as had no 10.
Murphys body language didnt inspire confidence before the peno. four second half points for donegal and maybe only 2-3 wides tells the tale.
Very poor support for Dublin with the exception of a couple of dozen behind the town goal they were outnumbered in the crowd by 5:1.
