Brazil v Ireland
I hope we get thrashed 4-0 tonight. Playing a game in London against nearly the best team in the world when there is an 80,000 stadium sitting idle in Dublin. Bad enough that England are taking our cricketers but we are now playing home ties there. Why not rejoin the Empire?

Re: Brazil v Ireland
strange goings on here - Keane withdrew from the squad with a knee injury and as a result of a miracle is now in the starting line up to play tonight. Me thinks there was some behind the scenes discussions from sponsors a la Ronaldo in the World Cup final not too long ago.
A sport that is rotten to the core were the corporate big wigs pull the strings

it's ridiculous that it's in London. The stadium is half empty and it's just a horrible, fake match.

Ireland are the "away" team. The FAI were invited to play Brazil, and they simply took up the offer.
Brazil use sports promoters to organise their games, thats why they played England in Dubai not long ago.

Watched 5 minutes - St Ledger tried to trick a Brazilian on the edge of his own box, dead centre - Brazil misses sitter. Shocker McShane does similar - Brazil misses sitter. Andrews does a dummy on the wing giving Kaka a free run on goal - Brazil misses sitter. JC turns the box off and does some knitting.

NIKE run Brazil. They decide who they play, where they play, and when they play. They also nearly pick the team and have been doing so for years.

Paul McShane is a first choice defender at a premier league club.
That proves that England's top league is on a par with the Meath and District senior league.

Don't be too harsh lads. We played really well in the first half. OK in the second the real gulf in class was apparent but Ireland played some great football in the first half. If you take that half and the performance in Paris, you have to ask why we can't/won't/are not allowed to play like that all the time.

Maybe we should get Nike to pick the Irish team, seem to be doing a good enough job with Brazil. Cant understand why Ronaldinho is not at least in the panel when they have that donkey Adriano in the team.
First half Ireland played well without really creating many chances. Robbie Keane had a terrible game, any time the ball came near him his first touch seemed to knock it straight to a brazilian player or out over sideline. The defence had a poor second half. (Not overally worried about the dence as Dunne and OShea still have to come in). Stephen Kelly had a good game.

Although Ireland played well in spells they should be trying to take more shots only one shot on target during the second half.

165 minutes (was there 120 mins. in Paris?) ...Goals scored..1.
Self evident that the full-forward line are on a par with Leitrims......useless....Of course I shouldn't comment, not having seen any of this enthralling stuff but the omens don't appear good.....
Soccerball is goosed here anyway...
