Re: GPA Football nominations!
i bet Tommy Griffin gets the number 3 slot too for his performance in the final. Have to say i dont get the nominations for Stephen O' Neill he was quiet by his standards - or maybe i am too harsh on the lad.

he was excellent against Armagh and Kildare, poor against Derry. One of the better Tyrone players against Cork. Certainly not 2005 standard but i think he was still good.

i'm not slagging the lad of or nothing like that - i suppose when you think about it he was Tyrones best player all year - in many ways he makes football look so easy - he definitely was the match winner against Armagh and Kildare - he was winning a lot of ball of Lockhart against Derry until he went of injured and was subjected to a lot of close attention against the Cork bottlers.
I'll take that back he probably does deserve an All-Star the more i think about it, the point he got against the Dubs under lights at Croker almost deserves an All Star on its own.

In my opinion, these guys - for the most part deserve them. Would like to see Quirke get it but looks like Murphy will probably get it. Canty had a great year and a reasonable final, McCarthy was only drafted in late on. Thought Crawford had his best year in a Meath jersey for some time. The only reason I would pick Walsh is because he played more games than Kelly or B. Brogan.

Re: GPA Football nominations!
Do you have to pick one of the 3 nominated at each position? Some of the positions are weaker (relatively speaking) than others.

Re: GPA Football nominations!
Am I seriously supposed to believe that the following had years that even came close to Colm Coopers, let alone better? Eoin Bradley, Daniel Goulding, Aidan O'Shea, Bernard Brogan, David Kelly, Tommy Walsh???? Serious like?

Re: GPA Football nominations!
How did Brady from Antrim get on?
This man allowed Murphy of Donegal to score a point, and then let Seanie Johnston of Cavan score a point.
OK, he then held Stephen O'Neill scoreless "indeed kick less) and Gooch didn't score either, but I ask you. two points conceded in a year, that is two too many.

Re: GPA Football nominations!
The Gooch didn't get in owing to his fondness of an energy drink not endorsed by the GPA
