Loyal - I too share your concern at the alcohol abuse in this country and especially how much importance our youth place in getting smashed on shots and blue wick*ds. All I ever hear is 'had a great last night, can't remember a thing'. Unfortunately it has now spread to this forum. Nobody minds a decent hard working man watching the greatest hurling performance of all time and having a few too many and coming on to put down his drunken ramblings .... I mean thoughts!!

But this student type thing (where do they get the money for a start - bring in 3rd level grants NOW!) where they seem to go mental during Rag Week and spend exam week steamed is a disgrace.

So I am opening this thread for yourself, meself and any others who are disgusted at the levels of alcohol abuse in this country especially among our youth and did I say students ? ... yeah I think it did ... its just up there a bit. Oh and women too and girls especially. God be with the days when some bars wouldn't allow females in - of course equality and all that blarney did away with that since. And look at the youth of today - no mothers to bring them up at all half the time cos they're in the pubs.

Anyways if you notice any more drunken stuff going on here at night you will find a safe, sober haven on this thread.

We are an All Island all inclusive body Jim. Let he who is without sin buy the first round kind of thing.

I am investigating a way to do online random breath tests at night after closing time to ensure that everyone stays clean.

must say jc you are right cant stand all this craic and i see it all first hand every weekend infact its what lines my pockets but its some joke i cant understand how parents give a child money cause they are in college and then they go drinking shots and they like vodka's wkd the list is endless ?? the amout of youngsters who dont even drink a couple pints just come in buy a raw spirit few shots get sick and fall around?? thay need to be brought to the pub with a parent and thought how to drink a couple of pints and respect drink sensibly? i think thats whats wrong this doest happen . students should only be givin money for thing they need and they dont need to be getting drunk 3times a week and if thats what they want they should be made get a job and earn it

This is one of those gadgets you're working on then? Keep us posted. Will it be a tube-type thing to be connected to the computer? I think you should send the first one out to Niamh.
