And there's another docket for the binman. All my favourite dogs knocked out tonight, really thought Lee would win, couldn't even come in the top 3. The writing is surely on the wall for my Pioneer Of The Nile bet.

A joke if Turkey don't win this.
Azerbijian, Albania and Moldova 2nd, 3rd and 4th in that order.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
UK came 5th but should have done better. Ireland gave them 10 points.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
By all accounts Ireland were robbed in the heats (prob wouldn't have won) but should they not have at least made final? heard their song on You tube maybe the singer was just awful on the night.
How did the new jury thing work ho many judges was there and who did it help out on particular?

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
a panel consisting of 5 judges from each country voted which made up 50% and telephone votes made up the other 50%. must have done some good as UK got to 5th rather than last, but political voting is still there IMO.

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
I was sure we had a 'Worst Songs Ever' thread but I can't find it so I'm gonna stick this turkey here! I bloody remember it too - and bear in mind it was '74 the year a group called ABBA won it with a song called Waterloo! Footage is good though - Dublin in the early 70s, getting like it again now - and the German voiceover is interesting! Enjoy!

Re: Eurovision Song Contest
admittedly i didnt watch all of the Late Late show last night - though i am guessing from Loyal s post on the Donegal thread that Niamh Kavanagh won.
Is it only me or is Johnny Logan an arrogant sort of a guy - he appears to have an enormous chip on his shoulder about his treatment after winning the competition.
