Dubs V Cork, who would win
What ye think lads? If Dublin and Cork met in the summer in football, who would ye back?

Cork ATM but they are pretty closely matched so I'd expect my opinion to flip-flop as the summer goes on. I'd say it would be a good game though and of course the hype would be massive as both counties try to show who is more full of themselves!

Re: Dubs V Cork, who would win
at present i would put my money on Cork - the biggest obstacle to Cork is if they start to believe their own hype.
they are a big physical side and appear to have made bigger strides forward than Dublin have in the last few years.
I wouldnt be gambling an awful lot of money on Cork though - Dublin could win it jsut as quick.

Cork used to be a one man show up front (Masters) now they have the likes of Miskella, Pearse O'Neill, Cussen, Donnacha O'Connor, Goulding and John Hayes - all good players on their day. If they clicked they could post a serious score alright.

Would have to tip Cork to. possible most physical side out there at the moment bar Kerry. The have the forwards I would be asking do the Dubs have a midfield and a fullback

I don't see a problem with the midfield Jim tbh - it hasn't been the main problem over the years and we have a lot of cover and potential there at the moment. Similarly Bastick has done ok at full back - other areas of the backline were worrying during the League though!
As I said I think we have a potentially good outfit and I think Gilroy will bring something to the table. If we play to our full potential and get a rub of the green anything is possible. Same goes for 5 or 6 other sides though!

I'd back Cork personally.
Cork's forwards are superb this year. Masters, Goulding and O'Connor will be a force to be reckoned with this Summer. Especially Paddy Kelly, he will be one to look out for in the championship. I think Cork have been very impressive this year in the NFL, and Dublin were disappointing to be honest. Alot can happen before the championship, but I cant see dublin improving alot. Though, I think dublin will still win leinster-I mean come on there's not alot of competition there. Cork will win it, especially if it's a semi final.

the dubs have some decent forwards too - Keaney appears to have got a new lease of life from somewhere and looks far more confident in himself than at any time before.
The Crokes full forward Davoren (i think thats his name) could cause all sorts of problems too as we saw against Kerry in the league. And you have the Brogans and Vaughan there as well. Bastic at full back is a big plus too - all in all it would be a tight call prediciting a winner

Well done RMD, there's no competition there either. But truth be told, Dublin dominate leinster football

Re: Dubs V Cork, who would win
I think Cork would win myself. Would be a tight one in Croker as the crowd always gives Dublin an extra boost, but I'd still tip Cork.
They're a physically huge team, and have the skill to go with it now I think. They may not have a real
marquee forward but they do have a good few forwards who are well fit to win their own possession and take scores at ease. If they all click in the championship they'll cause any defence trouble.
Of course Dublin have a good forward unit too and seem to have addressed a couple of their problem areas in the league with new players, but I feel if the two teams met this year Cork would win.
