Two All-Ireland handball titles for Monaghan
Congratulations to the two young lads from Monaghan who brought back All-Ireland titles to the county from the National Handball finals in Kingscourt, both beating Clare opponents in their finals, both on tie-breaks also.
Darren Doherty won the under-13 age group, and Padraig McKenna won in the under-15 category. Padraig will now go on to the World Championships in Oregon in October.
Great achievement for the young lads, a credit to their clubs and county. Good to see all the sports flourishing in the county!

Aye sure why not!
The Emyvale Ceili dancers won at the All-Ireland Scor at the weekend. Throw in the Vocacational Schools team and that's 4 All-Irelands for the year already!
And sure we've the NFL Div. 2 and NHL Div. 4 titles on the way!

Great to see ye in the Div 2 final. Cork are a tough one for ye but as they say it's all on the day.
I like Monaghan's style - they are fluent and fast with a couple of good scoring forwards.
Reckless a bit going forward but still good to look at.
Check your PM's.

Reckless aye but sure that's why it looks good!
We've put up some good scores during the league, there was 8 or 9 scorers on a few occasions. Entertaining stuff, hopefully we can keep it going in the championship.

I'm sad that I couldn't make it - but it seems to have gone well. I think Monaghan Handball is coming on alright

Yeah I wouldn't know the most about it myself to be honest, but I know it's strong in North Monaghan especially, the St. Mellan's club in Truagh in particular. But then you wouldn't know how they'd do on the all-ireland stage so it's great to see them bring home national titles.

I'll be honest in saying that there's not much of a scene at county level in handball in General. Intercounty is where it is at. (In fact there's a discussion on the handball forum complaining about the fact that players can represent their county without playing a game to 'earn it')

Re: Two All-Ireland handball titles for Monaghan
I note that in the trials for the World Championship THREE Antrim girls were in the doubles final, and a girl from Kerry, with the all Antrim pair winning.
Is there no limit to Antrim's dominance of Ulster GAA?

Girls handball is a different kettle of fish - I've heard of more girls getting byes to finals, maybe playing once to get to an all Ireland final...
And I don't see the dominance showing in the Aul football!

Don't worry Jayo, Antrim men are secure enough in their masculinity to realise that the sexes are equal.
Hence Antrim's six senior all Ireland wins, the best in Ulster.
