Derry Hurlers to play in Kehoe Cup
Taken from DerryGAA.ie -
Derry hurlers will break new ground this weekend when they take part in Leinster GAA’s Kehoe Cup. In their first game the Oak Leafers take on Trinity College Dublin at Clanna Gael, Ringsend (Dublin) with a 2pm throw-in on Sunday.
Derry Vice-Chairperson and Chairperson of the Hurling Development Committee Michael McCracken commented:
“In our annual review with the senior hurling management team, one of the things which came up was the problem of getting pre-season challenge games. Historically, it has very difficult to do so at this time of the year.
“We identified the solution of applying to the Leinster Council to participate in the Kehoe Cup, and were delighted to be accepted by them. It’s something which, in parallel with the hard work the hurlers are putting in, gives them a better chance of hitting the ground running with respect to our league campaign.”

This is a great move for Derry hurling, the more games they get against decent opposition the better. We have some great players in Derry that just need gametime at a higher intensity level and entering the Kehoe Cup will certainly help us!
Great to see Na Magha, Derry City's only hurling club represented in the starting line up!
