This is probably a dumb question, but what exactly is the Michaela foundation for? Is it related to sport or what? Embarassed

I heard john macareavy interviewed on Newstalk on Friday morning it is The promotion of "good lifestyle" culture,irish music sport,irish language and religion.
One concept is summer camps mainly aimed at girls - the thought being that the ones that are sport specific are boy focussed.

One other initiative is €1k college grants where the receipients keep a blog on their college life the objective being to show that there is more to experience than drinking cider.

Agree - I think his point was more that GAA/Soccer specific camps will appeal to majority of boys, whereas GAA/Soccer specific camps will not appeal to the same percentage of females - hence a broader itenary
