Cass owes nothing has given a decade to the Jersey -two all stars and one of the most memorable and dramatic scores.
However I might have more sympathy for him if he would refrain from trying to create headlines 48 hours before an AI final. Speaking on record first and thinking later being something that he has not changed in the past 10 months.
As regards the Tyrone incident - like all of these things there are second hand witnesses that swear he said X and there are second hand witnesses that swear he didn't.
Who knows - He spends that much time on record maybe someone should ask him.
With regard to Mort - I cried more for Rangers fans and the implications of their finanical woes

Well I have the ticket and I am looking forward to Sunday.I havent a clue who is going to win. Also I havent notion what tactics either manager will employ. Which players that will star and those who will falter.you must be joking. That is my analysis and anybody who thinks that they know better on Sunday, mhuise God help them. May the best team win.

was chatting to a Donegal man whilst on a few days away in Downings, this was before their quarter final. He was a mad fan followed them everywhere (or at least he convinced me he did) I think i mentioned him on here before. He told me there was no fall out between McGuinness and Cassidy at all, and that behind the scenes they were the best of buddies. He said more was being made out of it than actaully happened.
Not sure if he was telling the truth or he was a spoofer but he seemd genuine enough. Mind you he also said he had €100 at 33/1 on Donegal to win the All Ireland this year. Were they ever that price with the bookies.
TC i know what your saying about Cassidy (and OMAR I know exactly were your coming from) i was told my a number of Tyrone players who played in that game that Cassidy was mouthing of to young Peter Harte. But here Tyrone are hardly whiter than white when it comes to that sort of carry on!!!
I kind of feel sorry for him, he gave so much for the jersey and is now missing out on their biggest day for 20 years. That said better players than him never played in an All-ireland final so its one of those things.

By way of observation - I note from the donegal Pen Pics that 11 members of the Donegal panel
Eight starters + Toye/Boyle and Griffen weigh fourteen stone or more.
Not sure what the recent stats are on this but there used to be a time that if you were 14 stone
you were either a 6 foot 4 midfielder or an overweight Goalie or Jimmy Keavney

Only other thing i can tell you about him is he was 3 daughters and used to work at shuttering

Doesn't ring any immediate bells
People who used to work as carpenters/tilers/shutterers in London and then on Holiday homes during Celtic Tiger only eliminates about 20% of the male population up there !!
As for working in one of the Hotels Everyone has at some stage or another -
Ive worked in the Rosapenna/Beach Hotel /Harbour Bar/ Singing pub back in the day
Its a bit like eastenders a Microeconomy !!

It's been a frenzy. Our gang not all sorted yet.
Anyone I know that is living/working at home seems to have squeezed one out at this stage. We are still short three for a few ex pats flying in tomorrow. Club had sixty over club had 200 for 140 members but there is 100 names in for the other sixty
They are adopting a collect in person only policy in Dublin on sat for people that didn't
get home. We are relying on that for our three who are in the reserve list. To give perspective on how limited the options are
I'm sitting with three dubs.

Good that you got sorted at least. A good friend of the family, living in Cavan but from Mayo, goes to every single game, lives for it, finds himself without a ticket. Quiet chap that goes about his business, not involved with our local club and doesn't have much in the line of contacts. I'd be gutted for him if he couldn't go. So I'm on the lookout but doesn't seem to be much out there.

Id still travel if I was him. I know lads that were backing a few horses. They were applying on reserve lists throughbthe clubs, trying to tkts off anyone with county board connectons and also on the hunt for corporate tickets. Bound to ge a lot of double booking that will only come to surface on saturday or sunday. Worst comes to worst watch the game in a pub in drumcondra and at least get the atmosphere.

I agree with Omar there. Like in the golf, Saturday is 'moving day' for tickets. Early in the week, nobody gives anything away, as they want to sort their own families, and cherry-pick the best seats. Tickets reach most people on Saturday.

Thanks Chief. Getting the car packed this evening. For the first time in a long time I will be encountering a lot of traffic on the way to the game. We'll have to get on the road early.

good luck indeed, hard to beat that feeling being a supporter and heading to Croker for the biggest day of the year tickets in the back pocket and butterflies in the stomach. When i think back to Tyrone All ireland wins and the night before the games i was so nervous i am thankful that my obvious footballing talents werent spotted by anyone with influence in Tyrone. I was bricking myself hoping that everything would go our way but still that niggling feeling that the day would end in tears.
Hope to god i get to experience that feeling again in the not too distant future

Armagh won the All Ireland 10 years ago today (Dosent seem that long) and was saying to my sister, we are probably never going to have that feeling again which is very disappointing. Then again, Donegal probably thought the same in the not to distant past.

I'll open the posting post-match. Congratulations Donegal. It's great to see a less traditional county experience such joy. But a greater lesson in life on offer here - anything is possible with hard work and courage. And to see the delight now that it's all worked out - well it warms my heart. Well done Donegal.
Hard luck to Mayo. Six All-Irelands appearances since 1989 and it can only be getting harder. For players like Keith Higgins and Alan Dillon losing a third All-Ireland and having battled so bravely to the final whistle, well you have to give them credit.
On the game itself, I thought both sides were evenly matched, even make a case for Mayo being the more impressive side but the early goals were the difference. All credit to Mayo for their fightback. Unfortunetely, they probably got it wrong on the sideline leaving one of the more inexperienced players isolated on Murphy, and look as I keep on saying luck plays an important and when the ball bounced back off the post into McFadden's grip, well I knew it could only be Donegal's day. Should have been a free down the other end might I add.
