In the light of the most recent qualifier draw pairing Cavan and Kildare, it's high time we got behind "The Boys in Blue"....

Re: Cavan 2012.
If Seanie Johnston comes on it will be surely be remembered as one of the most notorious incidents in modern GAA history.
What happens now? He has pledged his allegiance to Kildare and while he may have got away with picking and choosing a county for himself, surely he has no right to decide what counties he will and won't play against.
McGeeney is faced with a nightmare here. If he asks Johnston to play, will he agree? If not, should he be dropped? If he does play, and Kildare lose, then this whole farce was for nothing as it will most likely spell the end of a powerful Kildare side, and McGeeney's tenure as manager. If he plays, and Kildare win, there will be little pride in it for Kildare, and possibly a lot of hurt for Johnston.
Something tells me the ghost of Michael Cusack himself was tampering with the draw...

Re: Cavan 2012.
BA I would imagine McGeeney would be perfectly (and justifiably) confident that Kildare are much much too strong for Cavan without Johnston. If he has any sense he'll tell Johnston to not go near Breffni, Kildare should power past Cavan without too much hassle, as little fodder there for the media as is possible in the situation.
If Michael Cusack started this though he may fooking finish it and help us get the win.

Re: Cavan 2012.
The media will produce the hype Cavan will give everything they have but I still think Kildare are miles ahead of us in terms of development.
The atmosphere should be great but I will consider the year a success with a good tough, hard display and build on this year.

As Pointed out to JS on a previous thread Omar has no reservations about jumping on any bandwagon boys in green. Cricket heroes eddy Macken Katie Taylor
Even cavan football if it promises a good day out. Which brings me back to John dalys open triumph the following night being a Monday saw Omar stranded in killeshandra for one hell of an evening. L
Minnie's, phairs fitches etc - I even recall that brolly was there. One hell of a night !

There's a bandwagon and a half going on in Lavey at the moment. ProjectXCavan. Google the Film Project X if you are not familiar but basically some poor chap had a facebook event inviting a few people for cans at his house while his parents are away, the internet took over, at the moment there are around 500 people marching around this lads house and around the Lavey area, Gardai doing their best to rid the crowd, more and more arriving by the minute.

Any Cavan lad, ne're mind a Lavey gossón, suggesting matters like "scoffable cans" on the internet needs certification....
But thanks anyway for the timely invitation.

Paul Fitz reporting today that the injury story is bull (surprise surprise) Johnston took part in full training with Kildare and even managed to practice kicking points in Terry Coyle Park last night while he "visited" Cavan.
Could he feature on Sunday...?

A cháirde go léir,
I would expect that all the Cavan supporters will celebrate their victory over the Flourbags tomorrow night in the approved manner.
It's important in victory to maintain a balanced level of surprise, modesty and decorum.
Referencing the Bossman ruling will appear distasteful, nay churlish. Please conduct yourselves in the proper fashion.
Yours in giving advice on surprising victories,

Cavan Gaels twitter congratulated the winners saying "They came from near and far" Seanie still holds a lot of support from the club and it's players.

Re: Cavan 2012.
Men against boys. Two teenagers left man for man in the full back line with O'Connor and Morgan O'F. Completely taken to the cleaners. Kildare went 50 odd minutes without a wide such was the time and space they had to take their scores. We kicked easy frees wide, over elaborated and made basic errors in good positions. Comprehensively overpowered physically.
A few random observations:
-Hyland talking about Kildare being a few years ahead of us in their development etc, I don't see him turning that team into what Kildare are now no matter how many years he tries for.
-Marty Duffy is a terrible, terrible referee. Worked himself into a frenzy and every foul resulted in him reaching into his pocket.
-Kildare had massive support for an away game.
-Ronan Flanagan has no place on an intercounty side.
-JS's self restraint is stronger than previously thought, woman beside me didn't make a move when Dermot Early took to the field. Gave Johnston a standing ovation when he came on with roars of approval for "Jelly Johnston" I bit my tongue.

Wherever jelly is laying his head of a night, he is getting well foddered.

All bollocks Omar..The Kildare module, much like Donegal's favouring of possion foootball, is repugnant to Gaels.
Their style is enshrouded in fear...Fear of losing possion, hence allowing a scorec rack-up.
10 odd years on.....Tyrone play it with panaché....

I assume you are talking about my post and not Omar's. Gael's may be up on their high horses about defensive systems conditioning etc but what good is that to Terry Hyland who decided to go man for man and heads back to Lacken with a 17 point hammering to show for his day's work.

Watched Killygarry beat cavan gaels earlier. Hungrier team won.
Garda escort for ref and a schmozzle afterwards with a few fiftysomethings throwing shapes.

Great to see, blows the Championship open. Kingscourt the team to beat now but don't have that invincible air that The Gaels had.
Horrible to see the usual trouble after the Gaels lose, have they ever lost a Championship game where the ref didn't do them? CB should be coming down hard on this.
Schmozzle between backroom teams, players, or just lads trying to get at the ref?
