A Thread for Mossbags to explain his week.
Much like Leitrim the day of the Connacht final of 1994, with the concession of a goal in less than a minute, the intrepid Mossbags has, according to all reports, made a Lazarus-esque recovery in the mine-field that is gambling.
An horrendous start, with the reversal on Hurricane Fly, the intrepid Galwegian has pulled off some amazing bets....
Forum member, The Puke, can bear these gambles out, so let's hear it Bags.
That said, with a small reversal today when the cliques naps came up short, The Puke lost no money over the week..
This time next year we'll be millionaires..

DAY 1 Mossbags stares into the abyss
Punting Hell. Have been a Hurricane Fly man from day 1 and was in balls deep. His defeat alongside inept displays from Steps to Freedom and poor old Scotsirish had me reeling. I felt like going home.
Day 2 A glimmer of light for the Bags
Victories for Teaforthree and Simonsig in the first 2 races steadied the ship a little. Had decent A/P positions on a few going into the week and Simonsig was one. Alas Grands Crus and Moscow Mannon were others although thought MM ran a cracker in the bumper
Day 3 The Resurrection
Got stung again with Peddlars Cross and was feeling rightly fcked off. Riverside Theatre was a longstanding A/P I had at prices ranging from 12s from before he won at Ascot down to the closing 7/2. I'd all but given up on this after the 1st circuit but as Barry Geraghty said after the race you never give up at Cheltenham. He cajoled the horse into a remarkable victory in what was the race of the Festival. Outstanding from the Meathman and I don't mind saying it rescued my whole week and even left me in a position where I might finish with a decent profit should results go my way on the Friday.
Day 4 Disappointment matched with relief
Day started badly when we heard in the car only 5 minutes from the track that Quel Esprit was lame and would be a NR for the Gold Cup. I felt sick as I was on this one at prices ranging from 33s to 80 odd. How the race transpired didn't leave me feeling much better either as he would have had a great chance of winning. Nevermind the sure thing Boston Bob who I had a decent wedge on at 9/2 would leave me nicely in clover for the week. Boston Bob who has about as much speed as your average junior B corner back came 2nd to Brindisi Breeze and I was fucked again.(It didn't help that I was in the presence of my Dad who backed the winner and was in full 'I told you so' mode for a while after)I wanted to go home. Alas the very last race of the week, the Grand Annual featured an interesting pairing who both 'owed' me Paul Carberry aboard Bellvano. My thesis was that these two bridal merchants might cancel each other out and actually get it right. Low and behold that's exactly what transpired as Carberry put in a peach of a ride to get Bellvano home from last to first without the horse even knowing he'd had a race. I was on at 24/1.I was ecstatic and ran up to clap horse and jockey in.(I had a similar day the next day at Uttoxeter when Midnight Oscar coming home in the bumper proved my only winner of the day)
Riverside Theatre rescued my week no question. I was still down but quite managably so thanks to him. Would I go back? We are already making plans for next year
