Re: Connolly red card
It doesn't get much lower than this. An incredibly cheap shot.

Re: Connolly red card
He is very lucky that it occurred in early January as opposed to the middle of the summer as far more would have been made of it. A horrible blow to give someone

Re: Connolly red card
Utter scumbag. Sort of blow that could do serious permanent damage to someone.
Do that to somebody on the street and it could be classed as GBH.

Re: Connolly red card
Compare this with the Brian Farrell incident. It's a complete joke. Connolly is untouchable it appears.

Re: Connolly red card
Not a matter for Connolly. Incidentally I found it amusing to watch the Kildare defenders goading Connolly and other Dublin players late in this game. I don't suppose anyone saw that. I can only imagine the Kildare lads were getting great sport out of letting our lads know that there would be no O'Byrne Cup medals for them again this year ......

So are you taking the condemning of the blatant assault and Connolly not being sanctioned as anti Dub bias?...

Re: Connolly red card
Sorry? Are you trying to infer that I am saying something that I am clearly not saying?
I shall plead the Pinocchio defence - Uh. Hmm, well, uh, I don't know where he's not
It wouldn't be inaccurate to assume that I couldn't exactly not say that it is or isn't almost partially incorrect. On the contrary. I'm possibly more or less not definitely rejecting the idea that in no way with any amount of uncertainty that I undeniably ...do or do not know where he shouldn't probably be, if that indeed wasn't where he isn't. Even if he wasn't at where I knew he was - That'd mean I'd really have to know where he wasn't.
So basically in Connolly's case if he wasn't then he isn't and he clearly wasn't when it was found he didn't thus there isn't anything further to say. On the contrary if he had then he would and it would have to be accepted - but he didn't and he isn't so there's not much else to say.

Dublin’s Diarmuid Connolly has escaped disciplinary action over an off-the-ball incident against Kildare in the O’Byrne Cup semi-final.
The Dublin forward’s knee appeared to make contact with the head of Kildare’s Ciaran Fitzpatrick.
Leinster’s Competition Controls Committee examined footage of the incident and decided no charge was necessary.
how in the name of jesus did they decide no charge was necessary?????????????/

Perhaps they should have examined kneeage instead of footage?
