Several other goals were considered.

Ronaldinho had 5 or 6 really memorable goals in his career.

The only reason Ronaldo's third goal at Old Trafford in 2003 didn't make the list was because there was no YouTube footage of it. There was also the one for Barcelona where he jumped in between two defenders and kept going to score.

Rivaldo got number one but had a stunning free-kick and a screamer from thirty yards go in, in the same game - both wonderful goals.

I liked Michael Owen's goal against Argentina in 1998 and his little flick in the first minute of the Portugal game at Euro 04.

Tardelli's goal and celebration was good. Pele's 100th goal - the header - stood out.

In the premier league, George Best had a majestic goal against Tottenham, and Paulo Di Canio's scissor kick, Robin Versie's flying volley against Charlton and two or three Henry efforts were also close to the final 25.

Yes well international goals score higher under headings "Occasion" and possibly "Drama" too.
