Leinster - the most negative provincial championship?
Jayo Cluxton wrote:After last Sunday's ...eh, whatever it was ... would it not be better to exclude the Ulster C'ship. I like to base my predictions on a team's skill, ability and football prowess. None of this comes into play in the Ulster C'ship therefore it is only a lottery and debases the competition. Agree?
Well, after Laois, Kildare, Wicklow and Longford managed a pathetic 36 points between them today, might be best to exclude Leinster as well Jayo!
Leinster, while low on all-irelands, has been cited in recent years as the province where you get open, high-scoring games, but today was every bit as bad as we saw last weekend from Donegal & Antrim. Is it down to the influx of Ulster managers, or is it an attempt from these managers to imitate the success Pat Gilroy had last year with the blanket defence. Either way, it looks like we are headed for a year of low-scoring, low-excitement games.

As per usual the only decent game of FOOTBALL played yesterday was in the Connacht Championship. Well done to Leitrim and Silgeach serving it up to the 'also ran' provinces

Hopefully last night's excellent game between Armagh and Down, served up in difficult conditions, acts as an inspiration to some of the managers in Leinster.
