The crises in Libya....eaten bread is soon forgotten...
Back in the day (around 1992/3) you couldn't sell a bullock or heifer, such was the poverty of the nation and the lack of demand for beef.
In steps that good and decent man, Col. Gadaffi and says "lads, I'll take a rake of that mate off ye're hands"
The late and legendary Mr.Haughey, ably assisted by Albert Reynolds, swiftly knocked up a deal with the Beef Baron Larry Goodman and Hey Presto.....all solved.**
Now we're out at rallies roaring for poor oul' Mummar to walk the plank...Did you ever hear the like? If I'm not mistaken, he may, in a lateral kind of way, helped bring peace to the Occupied Six...I think he may have invested a few petro dollars into the country as well....
On this auspicious day, as we persuade ourselves that we're moving on, I find this attitude staggering.....
** There was a quare lot of shin beef re-classified all right, but did the starving Libyan's care??? not a whit.....Poor form..

Sure get rid of gadaffi and what have ya? a british chosen dictatorship style government, which will ensure gadaffis supporters or people never get in again!
Where does it all end, and why all of a sudden do the brits want to help an oil rich country? They didnt want to help the people of Zimbabwe a couple of years back but they want to help here, we in the north and across people in the north want to be protesting against a government which has its secret service out creating havoc and arming civilians to meet their own greedy demands!
This is just another form of strengthening imperialism when the people of the western world learn!

Take a terrrorist out. Shoot him and dump the body in the sea. Accept another man for years and his oil, then decide not to, back an insurrection, have him captured and then apparently shot without trial. Isn't the western world very civilized.
